However, there is a story behind. "Wong"was chosen because of family's history with the surname. As for "Harmonie", it's because of a numerology pairing with "Wong". You can read more abt it in my 1st entry. I know that the online world is not 100% secure, so won't be revealing too much. & my dear friends, rest assured that I'll not be mentioning yr real life names in this blog.]

Went with friends for wakeboarding at Punggol Marina Country Club today today. Due to the fact that i am wearing glasses, with no contact lens, and having 1000 degree shortsightness in each eye ( really can't see when without the glasses), I only stayed in the boat, watching them wakeboard, enjoying the breeze ( oooh i love the sea breeze) and trying to get a tan.

The instructors are rather friendly (perhaps that's becos they are young), unlike those who talk to u in a "I-am-the-instructor manner". One even joked that he can sleep well tonite as both my friends, being beginners, managed to be able to stand up in the water, thus he still maintain his "100% guarenteed" record.

After 3 hrs, I found that I am roasted, not tanned. Arms, neck all very red.
Hmmmp!

Friens planning to go for canoeing next. And they mentioned as the movements not that big, i can wear my glasses when i canoe. Hmmm , see how lah.

Fuming MAD..........

It's really a mess when i returned to work today after a long weekend (i took leave on last friday).

First ,found out that a file was removed from the GM table an left on my table openly. normally i am the one clearing the files from my dept, I dun think the GM will do that himself, for in his out tray still laid other files, uncleared.

then found out that my hole-puncher missing.. i did recall before i left office on Thur, i placed it nicely on top of my purple small compartment. Dunno who's the person who touched my things.
had to borrow a hole-pruncher from my colleague (not everyone have it). And i punched holes with the paper slanted outwards.
Arghhhhhhhhhhh.

Lucky I am not the type who sweared the "F" word. the most i mentioned "shit!".

later manage to find that puncher being placed in my purple compartment. really tempted to tie up my things next time. (had already labeled them but no use)

All the magazines came, one by one, hand to run up and down the office to collect them. Back hurts when carried these 400 copies of magazines.

Then 20 mins before I left the office, a colleague asked me to check if some ne had sent in his invoice before. I recalled doing the filing of invpices on Thur, yet the whole batch of invoice were missing!

Those are confidential documents. Who the heck took them!

The problem with my cubical is, though i got the longest table to put my files, i dun have cabinets to locked them up. no choice they have to be displayed openly. And my neighbouring colleague's cubical was so tall that she can't see anything across her when she's sitting down.

Really have to complain if things go missing again.

SingapoLian

Read in this new issue of HER World regarding SingapoLians, yup not "Singaporeans".

true, there's an "Ah Lian" in everyone one of us.
& think becos of that "ah Lian-ness" in me, that caused some miscommunication.

Close friends should had gotten used to my vexed "ah lian" tone when i am agitated or gan-cheong by turn out of events. i also write in an "ah lian " tone if it was to friends over email.

Come on leh!, if u are not in the mood, would you still talk to yr friends in this way:

Excuse me... May I.... I was wondering if..... shall we look at these possible alternatives.. I'd be glad to....

Leave all these formalities in writing businness email lah!

The "ah-lian" in me would write it as

So how? .... what to do.... why lidat... then what to do

Imagine, if u so vexed, would u still have the time to write in formal way? At workplace, i will, but to friends i dun bother.

Yah, maybe u can say i take friends for granted.
So what. Sue me lah! U Ah Huays & Ah Bengs

:P :P :P

烦 " fan2" & events today

yah yah very very fan2...

a lot of things still not confirm.
want to plan things early and settled them once and for all but can't.

also very 烦 cos today is my off-day, went out to relax (watched King Arther and walked ard), yet on the way to Parkway Paradeat ard 5.30pm, father called as asked me where I am, and I had to be back for dinner.
DUH!

I am 23 liao ok! my younger sis often reached home after 1am and sometimes did not go home at all, yet he never scold her,. I think he's "diverting" all the scoldings to me.
actually wanted to reccee Kallang to see if Cosy Bayrestaurant is still in operation (had tried yellow pages and dial 100, it's not listed), but time was running late. However as the bus passed Indoor stadium, i only caught a glimpse of Oasis, no sign of the Cosy Bay Tower...

Anyone know anything abt it?

:( Pek-Chek

what can i say, so early send out invitation, yet there are ppl who said they can't make it, cos they intend to do something on that day.
take note: it's intend

it's not easy to gather ppl, find venue for my function...
was rather relief when a colleague, whom I am not very close to, managed to help me get a Hall. (i had thick-skinnedly approach him for his help, cos that's the last resort in getting the type of venue i want).

i dunno what to say, if i am not bothered by their no-show, i would not have make arrangements so early...

really dunno what to do!

NKF Charity Show and Huang YiLing

Was watching the NKF charity show on Channel 8,
ok,had to admit that the artistes really work hard to performance their stunt, but hey.. some performances really seem like modification of past year ones, like the last act where they all stood on ladders. think some years ago, a few female artistes also climbed on ladders. Even for the show last week, the performace
put up by Fann and Chen Hanwei was similiar to a performance put up by Vincent Ng and Le Yao last year.

With so many charities shows to host, it's no wonder they are running out of ideas....

Was really surprised to see the hokkien Pop Queen Huang YiLing performing.
didn't know she came...
Hearing her sing "爱到才知痛" (ai dio jia zai tia), really brought back those memories of J. bringing me to her concert last year.

friends know that I don't understand Hokkien, but it was under J.'s influence that I grew to like Huang Yiling's song. Especially this one.....

听了她的歌,让我想起你.
而你,是否在看节目, 是否有想起我?

upates 11-14 July

11 July Sun
Met up with LL, who is back for holidays from her UK studies. As usually, YF and LY also involved in giving LL the latest updates.
Kinda scary that now, we talked abt marriage, work.
A few years ago, we were gossiping abt boys, bfs....

one word -- 老了 (lao3 le)

12 July
Did a 100m dash in my high heels today...
Was having lunch at a canteen a few buildings away from my office where it started pouring. Waited for quite some time for the rain to get smaller and walked briskly back to office . Halfway through, the rain got heavier and we had to run. So "Suay' that i was wearing high heels that day.
But...
with years of experience running in high heels and platform shoes (a few yrs ago lah), i was the first to reach our office building. Hahahaha.

13 July
Watched the last episode of " 孩有明天II Hai You ming Tian II".
Well, the ending is rather expected.
What can I say, always and only at the last episode, the person in coma will wake up (near the ending).....
and everyone will be happy ever after...

14 July

Today is "egg tart" birthday. Knowing that she like cow, i had made a
shaker card with a cow for her (attached to a floral spagetti top---scaredshe'll think it's too girly for her). "Har Gao" and "Lian Yong Bao" had bought her a pencilcase in shape of a cow and filled it up with milk chocolates and a pair of black & white earings.

After having lunch at Toa Payoh Art Bistro, went to Cold Storage to look for this low-fat plain cracker. but couldn't find. Bought a potted plant instead.
Yah... i finally have my first potted plant for my office desk -- african violet. Hope it grow well.
Really like the violet flowers ;)

what a day!

yah, took leave yesterday (anyway had to clear leave, because of some HR policies lah)..

Didn't rest at home, when to AMK library, then headed down to Orchard to buy tickets for Spiderman2, meet up with friend and go for a round of Karaoke singing at Party World, watch the movie, search for foam board at bookstores , and reached home only at 8pm.

almost like normal working days, just that I spend the time outside office.

I would never had expect to bump into any of my friends in town on a weekday afternoon, but I bumped into my friends twice yesterday. one at Cineleisure, the other at just outside Kinokuniya.

sure, they were sure surprised to see me, just as I was.

had to repeat the story on why i was not working and told them the news abt my appeal to NTU not successful (received the letter only on Tue night).

:(

Ok Ok.
Regarding Spiderman2...
Well as a sequel, it's really good.
u know lah, normally sequels are such disappointments.

i was stunned at the scene where Harry Osbourne looked down from his room, and suddenly Dr Ock's tentacles shot up, as it really seemed that the tentacle shooting at you!
So stunned that i frozed for a few seconds. But there were some in the theatre who shouted....

But hor.. some scene/special CG effects look really fake.....
especially the scene when Spiderman & MJ laid on the web, can see that the web is made up of thick wires with a transparent plastic tubing...
hahaha

Arghh, right shoulder still hurting, at the joint. Somemore today at office had to click on the mouse the whole day ( the computer mouse lah), and carry stuff.

Must be due to the strain from Sunday hip hop dance steps.
Yup, last Sun went back to hip hop dance class after a month break. And "count me suay", missed so many classes and now when i "rejoined', the dance steps happen to be one consisting lots of "big movements".

got "地板动作" (di ban dong zuo) leh. dun pray pray....

The moves were like so funny -- "ugly hand " , "wong fei hong" ,and suddenly u have to drop down to the floor at one count and lay on the right hand. That was when I put all the weight on my right shoulder as I drop to the ground on thefirst time. Think i strained the muscles then.

Later, then found out some of the classmates suffered scratches. Think all the injuries were caused by the stupid "floor moves" ("地板动作" ).

Ok shall write down the steps here. I had memorised the steps, now see u all can figure out :P

In counts of 8 per set,

1. right elbow up, left arm perpendicular to right elbow joint
2. right arnm over previous left arm position, legs jumped out apart
3. fists togther, down, swings to right; feet twist right a little
4. fists together, swings to left, feet twist left a little
5. & 6. legs together, bring hands iver head, move down torso, body curve along and squat down.
7. lift body slightly up and back to squating position
8 lift up and jump to the right.

1. "ugly hand pose". right arm bring to left, the arm & hand held out in a way like the "Liang po po" in her "hoo hoo hoo " pose. , but middle finger points towards floor, little finger point front, thumb points to yr back.
2. left hand touched the right hand, legs jump apart
3. hands togther, swing over to right side, still in "ugly hand" mode.
4. lift right leg up. now, with the hands over at yr right side ( from the previous position), u realy look like one of the chinese martial arts move. No wonder the dance teacher called this 'wong fei hong" pose.
5 & 6& 7. right leg down, slowly draw back the hands towards yr neck, and down yr torso, and then turn back, with left leg in front, right leg behind.
8 shake yr upper body as u bend it down, ( as if u are a robot an "boh- battery" liao) and hands droop to the floor.

1. stand up straight
2 & 3. lift left leg and "fly over" 180 degree from right side to the front. Now u are back to yr starting position , but with yr left leg now stretch out .
4. Left leg now stomps down on the floor. now left leg is in front.
5, 6, 7, Bend body down, arms swing wildly at the side
8. Dropped down to the floor on yr right suddenly. right leg on the floor an left leg crossed over the right leg. (this is where it hurts if u are not careful)

1. Now lay yr whole body flat on the floor, arms stratch out.
2. fist bangs on floor twice
3. Lift boths legs up and down together while uppper body still remains "glued" to the floor.
4. Roll yr body one round on the floor towards the front.

FUNNY DANCE STEPS RIGHT?????

ice-skating on sat 3 July

yah, went ice-skating with my colleagues/ friends.
1st time ice-skating leh...
( so pai-seh, so old then learn ice skating)
was wobbly at first but didn't fell down.
but situation got worsen after their staff resurfaced the rink. Strange that the rink seems more bumpy after the resurfacing. And by that time, the place was more crowded then.

I really hate those "hao lian ppl", zooming past fast and cutting in front of others from out of nowhere. Not only that, some always shout vulgarities and purposely scrap off the ice from the rink and kicked at their friends. It really affected me as I am the type who will get nervous by these sudden cut in ( was afraid that I get bumped into).

fell down twice after resurfacing. 1st time landed on both knees, 2nd time fare better... fell on one knee...

After that, learnt that the other 3 of my friends also fell down after the resurfacing. As my friend put it, it was a "falling sequence".

Better to go on weekdays where it's less crowded and less bengs there.
