flowers, polar bear....

on Monday (25 April) afternoon, our Boss 's PA instructed us to see the boss just before we knock-off.
Expect her to give us some instructions regarding work matters but it turn out that she bought flowers for us as this week is Secretaries' Week. She said that even though we are not her secretaries, she still want to thank us for supporting ( as in jobscope) her and the company. * So nice of her*.

Here is the pic of my small bouquet of flower (initially).




Heh, now u must be wondering why i used the word "initially", as on the 2nd day, I started sneezing and then suspect the purple small flowers are lavender , which i am ALLERGIC to.

* yeah, I like Lavender colour but am allergic to Lavender flowers. Such irony!*

Got my colleague to smell them for me and she confirmed that. Will look bad if I plucked away all the lavender, so my colleague exchanged her small white flowers ( baby breath?) with my lavenders. Hence our bouquets look different from the rest.


As for events happened yesterday (Tue, 26 Apr), well... it's kinda hectic, but fun. Missed my ex-colleagues and friends so much. Upon reaching their office, they asked me to meet them at the canteen. Just when I open the door, and spotted them sitting right across at the far end of the canteen, they were like shouting my name and cheering. Caused such commotions that people from other tables turned ard to take a look. *paiseh*. Yet some of them still jokingly pretend that they are rolling out red carpet for me. *Shake head*.

But then, really missed all their craziness. U can't expect my present colleagues to do these type of stuff.

Bought some egg tarts and kuehs for them. Didn't manage to buy ham-chin-pengs as the stall was closed. Guess they like the egg tarts most, for they finished the whole box in the canteen.

They then took me to tour the Blu-inc ( the subsidiary that publishes Torque, Female , 女友....) new office ( Blue-inc ppl are going to shift into their premises on Friday) . Their office are more modern-looking and brightly lit.

Went back to thier office and "ah-ka" gave me this:



So cute! A glass-blown polar bear. They know how I love polar bears and I had collected almost all the polar bear soft toys from the "TY" series. "Ah-ka" was saying that she was walking ard China Square and saw this polar bear and was like thinking " it's so (my name)!". So bought it for me immediately. So sweet of her!

Took a glance at their office cubicles, and noticed they had put up more toys on display. Missed their lively , unique "spaces" too!

The weekend 23-24 April

Surpisingly, till now, my parents din noticed my cracked specs though I wore them in the everning and early mornings ...... They also din suspect anything when I wore my contacts lens at home yesterday.....

ok back to Sat (23 Apr) events.

The regular morning tuition was canceled as the poor kid was having gastric flu.
My schedule seems to be in a mess for this two weeked. had actually planned all my activities and events nicely. Then one by one, something cropped up, someone having probs, blah blah blah. Hence had to reschedule all my appointments. Shall talked abt that later...

So was wearing my cracked glasses in the morning, readings newspaper. changed into contacts in the afternoon when I am getting prepared to leave home for my Mini-Scrapbook Album class.

The art lesson was really "shiong". We were required to make a 12page album, and time really flies so fast that when we had done with pg 6, there's only an hr left. Hence the lesson dragged on to 8+ pm. the instructor even commented that we are one of the faster groups she had.

Was supposed to meet Sips at Muchuan for the Monsters' performance at 8pm. I was rather late when I reached there. Really flustered cos there are so many things on my mind , and I was so hungry as I had missed my dinner.
Was feeling kinda relived when "hyper active JH" offer me a green colour chocolate-looking thing, and he said "很好吃的！”
Guess what?
It turned out to be WASABI Nut!
Eeeek! I spit it out immediately.

Yah yah, they had been conned b4 me.So they decided to use this trick. So naughty of them!

Saw JH on stage with a new haircut. And Sips was telling me that XR and him went for haircut together. Hmm.... this is the first time i heard abt men behaving so cliquish..... * really eyebrows raising, rite?*

Haha, seems like what Sips and I were right in betting that the gals at Table 4 on Monday were being "charmed" by JH, for they were back at the same table on Sat. Another girl at Table 14 seems to be charmed by him too when he jokingly asked for her telephone number. To which she replied :"No problem!"

Quote Sips: "once they saw his true self when he's off-stage, they're gonna be dissappointed."

Need to mention this: Ximei sang a very 另类 song -- "爱到才知痛". U know that Hokkien song wth the chorus " ai dio li sim kia kia, siu dio li sim tia tia". hahahaha I would never have expect to hear that sang in a MinGe restaurant.

oh yah, when XR's back from his audition, he was showing us the actions for 童话。 Damm funny, especially the part '张开双手，变成翅膀守护你". We specially requested him to sing the song after the performance ended, and we did the actions together. Had a great laugh over it, though it seems crazy.

Went for supper with them. Sips and ah-du were both having bad cough, with Ah du looking really sick. Went back to Cineleisure , but we had learnt out lesson and choose to eat at Yoshinoya instead. I had bought my "fortune telling tool", cos ML was asking me to try it on her. almost forgotten abt it until she reminded me while we're queueing up to buy food. Since the rest are present, so i ended up doing readings for everyone of them.

Not not everyone, EXCEPT one.

Guess who?. It turned out to be XR who insisted on not trying, even though all of us dun really believe in it. Surprisingly, JH, who seems to be so reserved and so closely-guard abt his personal matters was willing to have his readings taken. One would have wonder why XR dun even want to play when JH dun even mind. In the end, we could only conclude that XR was afraid....

是怕算出他将会是单身，还是怕自己知道某些东西后，会受影响？ This , we do not know.


Hey Sips, have to remind u, dun be too affected by yrs results huh.


Spend my sunday at home,so nothing much to blog abt. Well, was taking a look at my this week schedule. Damm hectic. today evening most likely going out for family dinner, as it's my dad's bday. Tues afternoon to evening ,going to MacPherson, then NTU, then back to Chinatown from. Was actually thinking of going to the 1st two places on Thur or Friday, but too bad my friends can't make it on those days.
And then on, Thurs, there is this extra tuition lesson as kid is having her compo paper the day after.
Pending on my list is the meeting with my good pal, who is going to get married.

Kinda excited over it too, cos I was given a huge task as a jie mei. I have to capture the event with my poloroids and let the guests scribble their thoughts, well wishes , etc on the polys.
Quite innovative hor. :)

破了. 碎了

another suay day for me. First, I had to settled naother $120 for the transfered phone line, yes i mean that troublesome phone line which my parents refused to pay even I had given them my share.
even though i had paid all the amount owed by them at the point of transfer. i was shocked when Singtel told me that there is still another bill not settled for that period between the last billing date and transfrred tdate. If my dad still did not pay tis bill, the phone line will still be cut off even though it is now transfered to my name.

Grrrr.
Hope this is the last bill i had to settle for them.

Was already vexed abt money problems, and yet i accidentally dopped my glasses onto the floor. ( yeah i wore glasses when i reached ome, can't expect me to wear contacts lens for 18-20 hrs a day).
And the right lens cracked so badly........

Why am I so suay.... I had dropped the glasses quite a few times before, yet it remained intact then, why must it break today?

If i am going to make a new pair, it will cost me abt $300, due to my high degree of short-sightedness and astigmatism......

This month's expenses gonna be high (with dad's bday, mothers' day, friends' bdays, wedding dinner falling durng this period) , so i can't afford to take the risk to make a new pair now.
Well, I guess i have to bear with seeing crack lines across my right eye until mid May then......

Posting for Monday 18 April

Heard from someone in the evening that it was a 凶日. Perhaps that's why things did not turn right for me.
Something happened at home in the morning.....
Something happened at work......
My body's system was not rite,
even my mind wasn't the right state......

The only thing which turn out "right" was the suprise for the Mon-sters ( Monday dang singers @ Muchuan). Brought and brought along the lightsicks and we ( including flutterby and xelent's tables) started to wave the lightsticks at their "finale" ( the song :当你孤单你会想起谁). Was a bit paiseh initially until midway, seems like the other patrons sitting at the other tables also want to join in the fun. So passed ard the remaining lightsticks, and everyone was waving lightsticks while the singers were singing. The waiters even helped to create the atmosphere by switching off the lights.
It really look as if they were having a concert.
Everyone was like Kee Siao liao, screaming "Encore" and nobody want to leave after they sang 3 more songs.

If not for the pain, i think I would have enjoyed myself more......

of cos, the answer is "Yes"

"Yes" to what? Building casinos! The decision was made on 3pm today. But judging from the "pssitive notes" mentioned in the news for the past few days (such as 100000 more jobs will be created if govt agreed to build casino), I sorta guessed that the answer is "yes".
Perhaps I should have bet with my friends before the "results" were annnounced at pm today. Haha!
But what surprised me was the decision to build TWO casinos.

Arhh, I wonder what will happen to our safe Singapore.
What if one day i walked along Sentosa, and saw a group of men in suits.
*Picturing the scenes from "Infernal Affairs". *
Nah! Guess dai gor gai and his traid members won't be as handsome as Andy Lau or Tony Leong.

Hahhaha.

Ok ok. I've gone overboard.

SINGAPORE : Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has said Singapore will go ahead with plans for two integrated resorts with casinos.
One will be built at Marina Bayfront, and the other at Sentosa.
Speaking in Parliament, Mr Lee said that when the idea was first mooted, he was personally against one.
But the environment has changed, particularly in the tourism industry.
While Singapore's tourism numbers have been increasing, market share has been falling.
He said realising the ideas to make Singapore a place that has 'buzz' is not so easy and that Singapore cannot stand still.
Singapore cannot afford to lose out in the tourism game as many jobs are at stake, even Singapore's position as an airhub.
Many cities around the world are reinventing themselves, including New York, London and Paris and Singapore cannot to stay still, he said.
The third point he wanted to make was that the casinos will be in integrated resorts, and a small but essential part of the project which makes it feasible.
And because of this, there is no need to have government grants for the resorts, he said. - CNA /ct

posting for 15,16 April

Have not been blogging for the past weekend. Actually the past three days were packed with activities.


Attended my company staff retreat which was held at Civil Service Club last Friday. Nothing much actually. Just a bowling session in the morning. Had a loooong lunch ended at 3pm) then some group discussions abt challenges and solutions, company culture.

It has been a few years since my last attempt at bowling. So, you can guess how I fared. Luckily I wasn’t the lowest scorer in my group. The lowest scorer was a male colleague, who though looks macho, was a bit “nua3” in some ways……

Sat was a really busy day. Think I squeezed abt 6 activities in that day.
Well, my Sats are still packed with activities even though I am “retired” from TXY. The last time I stepped into SPH was at the Freshmen Orientation camp. It’s a nice change, so far, I have time to attend classes and have been doing some craft work, went shopping and KTV with friends, and even had some gatherings with friends & juniors from TXY.

Hmm, let me recapped the series of events I had on Sat.

1) Tuition from morning to early noon. Had actually brought forward the class by 30 mins so that I have time to travel to my “next stop”.

2) Rushed to Plaza Singapore to attend art lessons. Learnt how to make tags. I guessed people won’t believe such a small tag actually takes abt 30 mins to complete. Made 8 tags within the 3 hours, Time really flies pass so quickly when you are engrossed in your work.
It was an enjoyable lesson, though I had made quite a few mistakes. First it was due to my “parallax error” (some friends know I can’t really interpret straight lines), then it was my lack of strength to hammer the eyes onto the paper. Haha, the instructor, a petite lady manage to hammer down the eyelet in one strike.
丢脸!
“你没吃饭huh?” She jokingly asked.
Yeah, I didn’t . ….

3) Went off to meet Sips at Hougang Mall. Was supposed to look for something, but *sigh!*, nothing much to see at Hougang Mall.

4) We met up with YW at the bus stop within bus interchange ( yeah , sounds so weird, but it is really the case) and proceed to Cyn's hse for her birthday bbq celebration. Was raining initially, so we hanged out at her house for her while, then went to the park where the bbq pits are located. Left before they even start to “peng’ the meat and prawns. Why? See the next point

5) Well, because are we were going to Muchuan! Sips had already promised to meet up with Meilian at 8pm, and initially we thought it was Ah Du and Shaowen’sdang performing. Then just as we reached there, our informers (chengyao) smsed that The Monday dang was being asked to ti4 dang4. So we saw Ah Du, Meilian and Jianhua’s performing instead. Hmm a bit disappointed though, Not disappointed at their performance lah. Just that I never get the chance to see the original dang’s performance lor. Sips always sang praises abt Shaowen’s skills.

Oh yah, had to mentioned we managed to get Yiwei up on stage to sing again. Haha. He ended up singing the same song “温柔”. But his performance was really much better, Hmm practice makes perfect hor. Not everyone can have a chance to sing on stage leh. Just as he finished singing, the four of us shouted “Happy Birthday” to him. Quite an early “birthday present” for him lah, as he will be “pia-ing” for his exams during his birthday week. But still, the Monday dang3 sang him a birthday song. Haha someone still mentioned abt blowing candle. Too bad our table’s candle stick 早已熄灭了.


6) Well, the original plan was to meet up with Meilian and Ah Du for supper. Due to the change of performers, so Jianhua was asked along too, or else it really seems awkward. Hence we can’t talk abt some topic lor. Went for Sushi at Cineleisure. Well not a place I would recommended. (but there aren’t many places u can go for supper in town after 12 midnight). The food were not hot though we ordered them from the menu. Sips and Meilian’s ramen were too oily. And I was faced with a bowl of “the never ending seaweed” udon.
Xingrong dropped by just before we were done with our supper, and the poor waitress was at a loss with this joker. When she asked for the bottle of soya sauce, he demanded 20 cents from her. He then started to crap abt him being a “bi” and hugged the two guys beside him. Ha ha , Ah Du seems so paiseh and apologized to the waitress on his behalf.

Had a round of games at the arcade before we left for home. Phew! What a day!


as for Sunday. Well, guess I need not mention abt it. those who know would have know. :)

Star Wars Episode III M&Ms Packaging

Had actually read abt it from a magazine weeks ago, only get to see it with my own eyes when I was at Watson yesterday.

Wanted to buy all 4 different favours, but the decided to forgo the Peanut ones as it was't my favourite. HA! Saved $2.30. (yah, it is muct costly than the normal M&Ms).

Gave the pack of Dark Chocolate Peanut M&Ms to my little brother, who has been so sweet these few days. Poor boy dun like to stay at home as "tiger" would often scold him for no reason. But due to her strict disclipine, he had no choice but to come home after school if there's no CCAs or supplementary classes. Of cos, there were some days he lied so that he can escape from home for a few hours. As long as he didn't mix with wrong company or get into trouble, I dun see what's the problem with that.

What I like about my little brother is that he is generous by nature. Even though my mum always "teaches" us not to give people treats or u will loo-gee and not to donate money to charities, as quoted by her "rather keep money for own use ".

Take yesterday for example, he loves chocolate sooo much, one would expect him to accept the whole pack in glee and ate them all by himself. Yet after opening, he offered me some, and then left half a pack and asked me to "keep for him".

Keke, took some despite my on and off fever. Was so hungry ( had very light meals like porridge and fish noodles for the last few days) that I couldn't resist the temptation and opened up the pak of Darck Chocolate M&Ms. 干脆来个“以毒攻毒”吧！

Invasion of the cows???

Was walking pass this open space behind Chinatown Food Centre yesterday evening, and was shocked to see so many "cows" there. Recalled that I did not spot any on Monday evening,

Decided to take a picture of the scene at the risk of being laughed by the drivers zooming by....





Finally, mystery is solved after reading Today newspaper . Here is the abstract :

Summary from 8 to 11 April

First thing: It seems that some people are really blind and thick-skinned. Despite warnings that trespassers are not allowed here (note: Trespassers means those who I know in real life yet I had never given them the link to my blog, and had stated I dun welcome them here), they still cling on like pests. Seems that their minds are not functioning properly as well, for they misinterpreted my posts and pics and blabbered rubbish on their blogs. Guessed some was jealous that “it” (yes, to me, pest are best described as “it” , not “he” or “she”) was not being invited to some events I mentioned in my blog. Haha.

Well, trespassers, if you are angry upon reading this, you have only yourself to blame for trespassing here. U won’t know what I wrote if you had not come to pay yr respect here right.
* smirk*

Friday 8 April.
Left office after lunch and proceed to headquarters to update our organisation’s webpage. Haha my partner and I are not trained in Dreamweaver. Encountered problems initially, and the IT officer was like suggested we get the vendor to come down to help. But that will cost $200. (it is rather puzzling how the organization work., The IT will source out those tasks like creation of webpage, computerised booking system to vendors).
Well, my partner and I insisted on figuring out the steps by ourselves, yet the IT officer was rather skeptical, as she don’t even dare to play around with the program. Even though she was rather tied up wither work, she keep popping by to check if we had done any drastic change to the original files. * Kia si*

Well, my partner and I deserved a pat on our backs as we managed to upload all the pages just minutes after 5pm. So we decided to reward ourselves by leaving the headquarters and heading straight for home before the official knock off time at 6pm. Anyway, no point going back to office as by the time we reach, it’s just a few minutes to 6pm.
Come to think abt it, we help our company to save $200 and our salaries hourly rate is much less than that. :P

Sat 9 April
Went for “ Food-Tasting” at the new Marina Square’s foodcourt (Marina Loft). Got a seat by the corridor, and the view wasn’t exactly what u’d call “sea-viewed” as they described, as you will see roads, Esplanade, Fullerton One in the foreground.

I wondered were their business really that good, or they only prepared a small quantity of food, as the dishes I want to order were all sold out at 7+ pm. Wanted to try the yun tun mian, but no more yun tun. Wanna try the dumpling soup, the dumplings were sold out. Herbal soup and roast meat were sold out too. Har-gao were also sold out. So in the end my friend and I settled for bah-chor mee, you ji fan, seafood dumplings instead.


Sunday 10 April

Had a KTV session with Sips and my ex-colleague b4 Sips and I head for our lessons. Burst out laughing when Sips showed me a pic. Guessed that pic was really a “bonus” for her eyes.

Reached home around 8pm and saw Cyndi Wang performing her “Honey” dance on the NKF charity concert shown on Channel 8. What touched me was the Diva, Zhen ni’s performance，though she do not belongs to my ‘年代’. Emil Chou was so right in saying that he would make 3 calls for her 势力，台风和美貌。 My mum was like telling my little bro in envy that how she & my dad used to watch her performances and Zhen Ni still look quite young for her age.

Monday 11 April

Upon reaching office, was greeted by an ugly sight from that old woman’s desk. She had distastefully cut out a cardboard and placed at the side of her desk, to prevent us from watching her at work. Guess she must have done this on Friday, when my partner and I are away. Hey, we are her supervisors; we are supposed to check on what she has been doing. For the pass few weeks, she took days to forward the invoices and spent hrs on the phone, gossiping. We hadn’t complained abt her when our big boss asked us how’s she is doing. Yet…..

Friday's Post

With reference to my previous blog, turned out it is not Possibility 1 , 2 or 3.
Well, I had found them on the floor in my room. What a relief!


Had an interesting chat at TheArk forum yesterday. Towards the end of the day, we were debating abt if a girl like a guy, should she just wait or profess. Then topic sort of expanded to whether is there "The One". For some time, it's all the female members chatting, though there are a few who just "look" and chose to remain silent. Someone was like asking the guys to give their views on gals chasing them, and how would they react. But till now, what we received is an ambiguous answer -- depends on the situation. Haha.


Hop on to another topic. It really piss me off to see someone criticised my club, just because he was kicked out. Yet he was too proud to admit it he was “expelled” due to the things he had done. Yet the way he put in was as if the standard of the club members’ skills is getting worse, and “worse without him”.

He sort of reminds me of “Hitler”, from the way he craves for power and authority, and then making use of the club’s newsletters and now his blog as a medium for his propaganda. I pity those who are “brainwashed” by him and believe that he’s the “innocent party”.

What is even worse that now that he’s expelled from the club. Somebody still gives him copies of our club’s monthly newsletters and someone passed the articles for him to edit.
I dun mind if he still receive these “papers”, but he got no right to condemn the works of the other members and purposely edit the article and put them up in his blog for the whole world to see. Who is he to say that that piece of work is a “Grade T-" !

有些东西，该放开就放开，何必因为无法得到便“宣战”。

oh gosh, I am really worried, panic and 坐立不安.

Wanted to post later whupon receiving sms from sis, but till now she had not replied. So i really unsure if I had commited a grave mistake.


ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

U see, last evening , bumped into my sis at the lift lobby then she told me abt her damaging Dad's car as the lft took us to our unit. Think I was so engrossed talk i forgot who opened the fron door and closed the front door.

This morning, very routinely, I was abt to take my keys from my table before I leave home to start work, I just couldn't find the keys. Search high a nd low for 10 mins yet still can't find them.
Really had to leave home or I will be late for work.
Really worried that it was me who opened the door and forgot to remove the keys. And someone took it!

Arghh!!!!!

let me recalled, i think i was the one opening the door, as I had flashback of me using my key with the pink keycap.
My sis and I reached home after 7pm, and when my sis's bf came at ard 8+pm, i recalled seeing teh front door was locked and my brother using the spare key to ope the door for him.


Could anyone had taken the key within that 1 hr?

I am left with 3 possibilities:
1) Someone really took the keys away.
2) My sis thinking it was her key, locked the door and took my keys by mistake.
3) The keys are hidden somewhere on my desk which I missed on while searching.


I hope it is not the 1st possibility, mum scolded me, saying what if people come and break into our house, when I told her i am taking away the extra sets of keys to duplicate.

Had sent my sis an sms, asking if she had taken my keys by mistake. Til now, no reply from her... Still sleeping?!!!!

What to do??????????

Decided to out up this pic first to grab attention.

Ms Yaoxian, Thanks very much for this cute flower.
But hor , this poor flower was "蹂躏" by my ex-colleagues when I met them on sat evening.
Hmm shall post the pics once i gotten hold of them.

Sat afternoon event ( hmm dun wnat to mention here, those who know will know what i mean)wasn't smooth for me, as I expected. Miscommunication happened. Anyway it's a lesson learnt, just hope I can improve next time.

Met up with my friends (ex-colleague) on sat evening. Missed them so much. Eat, drink, talk, then went for another round of kopi at 2am! Showed them my "special project", even though it was only 90% completed.

The "special project" which I had mentioned is actually a scrapbook. Wonder what did you all guessed it was.

Really didn't expect they'll scrutinised every word I write. A bit pai-seh, cos some are a bit sentimental...... Also paiseh when I didn't feature some ex-colleagues who were also present at the "gathering" .

Anyway, my friends are so cute, especially the way they signed guestbook, very creative. They not only signed, but also drawed on the page too.

Was taken back when D commented that Ah-du looked like zai zai. Well... didn't Sips mentioned b4 that some Txy also thought he looked like Zai Zai too? Oh yah Sips, some of my colleagues said that Ah-du is more shuai than Jianhua...... keke u gonna throw eggs now?

hmm how shall I put it: Lesson was quite fun. Lots of jokes cracked.

I sorta expected my range is not that wide, so it's no surprise that my range is the lowest of them. I know what my faults are but dunno how to overcome them,

Burst out giggling when Sips was trying to reach the"P". Teacher also not that "innocent" after all, saying the noise made was like of "AV pian4". *diaoz* .

Hmm, was quite worried and sad when teacher told us something abt the Monday's dang. Can only hope that situation will improve and they won't be split. Suddenly felt 无能为力, as we can't help them. Even if we two support them ever week isn't enough......

quick update

Just a short one:

* Media Briefing on Tue was quite smooth. Just that the journalists from ST were very late. As expected, the "old woman" created a fuss. Noboday wants to 'chap' her. Haha.

* Met up with old friend L yesterday. Hmm he seemed to changed for the better ever since he got attached. keke. But he dun wanna show me pic of his gf. So still wondering who is this mystery gal.

* Slept late for this week, was sleeping especially late yday. But woke up quite happy, as I am rather confident that my secret project can be completed on time.

* Kinda worried abt my back (old injury). Start to experience pain again since yesterday afternoon. Was bearing the pain while having dinner, and almost can't lift up my leg at night.

* Looking forward to tomorrow, cos meeting my friends who are my ex-colleagues. Expect a nite of fun 2moro evening. But feeling stressed abt the event on 2moro late afternooon.
