我想,我这次真的很累了。
累到连发脾气的力气都没有。

最近 遇到很多不如意的事.
但比起一些朋友,我想我还可以过得去啦!

Take my good friend's for example, her mum was diagnose with cancer and have been receiving chemo treatment at the hospital for a week. It must be hard on my friend, as this news was too sudden. The last time I saw her mum was at my friend's ROM 2 months ago. She was looking so healthy and beaming with joy. Pray that her mum will recover soon and I do hope to see her at my friend's wedding dinner next year.

I noticed the difference in me now. I used to be aggitated when I encounter these back-stabbers' and hypocrites' pretenses. Now, I just remain silent.

Ok lor, if u wanna get me involved in it, I'll heck care.
那些被你的行为所骗的人, 就让他们去误解我吧!
我才不会像你这样,去使用一些卑鄙手段。

Gor was telling me :
" most of the time the evil ppl in office are female.
male r juz domineering or strict.

but female play alot of mindgames .
Those who dun play are the purebreeds who get eaten up.
but then again dats not a good excuse to start acting & plotting like a fugly byotch。"

Yah, that's true. Considering how that old woman plotted to make it seems she is such a hardworking and friendly colleague in front of the other officers. Only those in our department know what she is really like. I wonder how much time she had spent in planning those pretenses.

Anyway , I am just tired of all these. So many things happened at home.... So many things unsettled. Then people thought I am a great planner and expect me to plan something when now I dun even have the mood to. I have high expectations of myself and if i din do it well, I will
be angry with myself.

算了吧!走一步,看一步。

Just another note: I found some comfort while listening to 李圣杰的《远走高飞》 just now. Especially these verses which I can relate to:

"这一个蜚短流长的世界布满虚伪"
"我已经感觉到疲累"
"重新再出发 能不能让这天地不再吵杂".

Sam's new look

Haha. noticed that I have not been reporting news abt 李圣杰 recently.... keke

Well actually he had been performing at a series of live! shows in Taiwan for the past few weekends. And i 've gotten movie clips of his live performances too! So shiok to see him and listen him singing live. Even though he was singing the same songs from his last album, 每次都会用不同方式“处理”。 So that's why I'll never get sick of them.

注意到他会临场改换旋律或歌词。
那也表示他绝对是唱Live!, 绝无对嘴哦!

哈哈哈。看来有人又要晕了。

废话少说,now I shall show u his new hairstyle.

Actually not much difference lah. He cut his fringe.

This pic was taken by Chile, on 27 Aug.

hmm, just hope this is a "prelude" to his new image for his next album. Personally, I think his hair is getting a bit untidy liao....

long march & birthdays

Grhh, after I had written a long post abt 3 days' events and submitted with a "click". The post encountered error and I lost the whole post. Really pek chek, and dun wanna write anymore. But seeing that Ah Shui had wrote abt me as her role model in blogging, well..... I have to keep my blog updated. So here is a more consise version. Too tired and pek chek to rewrite everything again. Only manage to recover some parts of my previous post

************************************
14 Aug 2005 ,
Evening Siping, Chengyao, Jiahao, Welly and I continue to hang ard @ Muchuan for a while before we proceed to meet up with the rest to view Fireworks at Marina. It was sort of a farewell gathering for Wanling. (Zhenyu couldn't make it). I was supposed to change into the S& K Top and bottoms they have bought as my bday present. but.... hahahaha I can't fit into the S size pants the gave me. So boh pian, have to continue wearing my dress instead. As expected, the train station was very crowded. Managed to squeeze through the way. Din take a bus as we can't guaranteed we will be able to hop onto in and make it in time. So we walked.
A long walk.
Quite exhuasting but it was quite enjoyable lah. We were playing with sparklers and lightsticks as we walked through an area with no street lightings . We were soaked thoroughly with perspiration when we reach the stage area. Mr Long Legs then told us that that is not best spot to view the fireworks. To get to the best spot , we have to walked at a faster speed . I was quite fed up with my heels, with really hinder my movement, and simply just remove them and ran barefooted.
感觉好爽快。
很久没这种不去在乎别人的眼光,随心所欲地做自己的事的感觉了。
那时,赤着双脚,不顾形象地狂奔着的我,
就像是被放生的小鸟, 享受着自由的滋味。

Ok. Get back to the topic. We reached there just in time and have an unobstructed view of the fireworks.

Anyway, something happened on the way back. And I am really angry with myself for being so weak. Though it is something I can't controll and din expect to happen at that point. Caused quite a lot of inconvenience and trouble. And I guess all could have be prevented if I had taken more salt, not sugar before the event.

15 Aug 2005
Went to Muchuan and this time we are celebrating Ah Du's Birthday.
Somehow really feel that the ambience that day was really "weird". Though many tables were filled up, patrons there were no involved. Seems like they were more bemused by the sight of Meilian bringing up Ah Du's cake and having to be involve in the birthday song singing than having a "join in the fun" attitude.
I was also feeling uneasy when I had to faced the pairs of hostile looking eyes while answering Monster's question regarding Li Sheng Jie's songs. I dun wish to be in the centre of attention and which is why I always never acknowlege myself as "Li Tai Tai" during their performance.

The "Kodak" moment was when Ah Du gleefully received his " birthday present" kept in a Levis paper carrier and opened it to find a packet of Tai Sun bee hoon instead! What a good idea coming from the two Monster ladies!

*********************************

17 Aug 2005

Thanks to my company new staff welfare, I need not report to work on my actual birthday. And Welly was such a sweet person to take leave o accompany me. Or else I will really be singing 祝我生日快乐 alone.
Well I did sang that song during our early bird KTV session. She made me sing one!
感觉真的有点凄凉.

I guessed the "best part" was that I fumbled at 黄昏's chorus. Welly was laughing so madly. Well... guess this proved that I had neglected the song which has been accompanying me for the past 2 years.....

Who's fault? kekeke

Watched Bewitched , shopping and grab a bite after the karaoke session. So this is how I spent my birthday.

14 Aug 05 Part 3

Part 3.

After my horrendous performance, it's time for Zhongwei's (my so-call "小弟") performance. He was orignally scheduled to performce after Yiwei but as a doc, he has a busy schedule and had rushed down to attend my gthering as soon as he knock off from work. Thanks arh 小弟, 那么给大姐面子. 怪不得有人说,要看到你, 就得出席我的生日聚会了. Last year, Zhongwei left quite an impression on my friends with his "Jeff Chang sound-alike" singing. So this year, I specially requested him to perform a 张信哲 song again. He did well despite being unprepared. (I only have the chance to pass him the lyrics just minutes before his performance).

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

During the chorus, he kept turning his head to look at Ah Du, making us laughing at such comical actions. Realised that he is quite sensitive, and he was right in saying that Ah Du's key was incorrect. But no one is at fault as they never had a chance rehearse together and Ah Du was already doing me a favour by playing for him.

Ok, as mentioned in the previous post, the Monsters continued with their performance after this short "break". It was also at that time I realised that all my food were gone. Gosh, iI tot I had cater enought. I actually ordered 55 tarts when there are less than 40 guests. My friends even told me that I can actually save on the food when I told them I also had arranged for koniyaku jelly, sandwiches & potato salad. I certainly didn't expect them to be sooooo hungry as the party was held after lunch hours. Kekek must be the food is too delicious.

Cake cutting segment was scheduled after their performace, at least I can pacify those hungry monsters by telling them more food coming on the way, haha.

keke, think Welly and I shocked everyone by bringing out a big box. Yah that cake from Coffee Bean is 3 kg. Jianhua commented from the stage " 为什么生日蛋糕是 Birthday girl自己拿出来的?".

哈哈! 不止lor。生日蛋糕还是我自己买,自己选的。
I'd took a risk this year by ordering cake from Coffee Bean instead from my usual source, Prima Deli, as I fell in love with this "gift wrapped" cake when I saw it on Coffee Bean's catalogue. The original cake was in blue and white.
I had written in to the customer service department, enquiring the possibility of changing the colour from blue to purple ( to match my theme). And they gladly did so at no extra cost! Yeah~

Here is the pic of the cake. Very "me" hor? =P

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Think I had made the correct choice as I saw ppl start taking pic of the cake with their cameras and phones. Not forgetting that the cake was covered with icing, not cream. so they dun have a chance of slamming me onto the cake to get me "creamed". Hahaha.

My idea was to get everyone to gather for group photo, then get back to their seats before the candles were lit. But they gathered and sang birthday song instead!. hahah.

At that point of time, Peter ( ex colleague from SPH Mag), came in with a bouquet of flowers which my SPH colleagues had asked him to buy. Can see Nicco and him hestitating whether to pass me the flowers then.

I received 3 bouquets of flowers (the other 2 were from Alicia and Welly) arranged on my main table. And coincidentally, all the bouquets were a combination of baby breath, Forget-me-not and roses wrapped in purple paper. Keke guess Forget-me-not are the only alternative (purple flowers) florists have since I am allergic to Lavender.

We did managed to squeeze around the stage are to take a group pic. 37 in all, excluding Cynthia and Haoting who had to leave early.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Now looking at this pic, I realised my main table is so "purplish"

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I didn't make any wish that day, as to me it wasn't my birthday so no point in making wish.

说到许愿。 想想看,如果你得到一样东西或者一段感情, 是靠你许的愿, 而不是靠你的努力所换来的, 那会有意义吗?

But on my actual birthday, I did wish for something for my friends. It seems that so many of them are going through a difficult period now, and I really hope that they can overcome all these difficulties or misfortunes.

Get back to the topic. I had included a Mini Prize Presentation ceremony to thank everyone who helped out in the event. Ah Du and Jianhua got "trophies" instead as I think they have enough of my handmade magnets and purple stuffs. My helpers received Big Jellies with magnets or sweets.

Looking at the pictures taken during Prize presentation, the whole segment seems very formal.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Me with Siping.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

With my gor. Woah, '"formal handshake" somemore!

At last when Nicco came on stage, she gave a "小鸟依人“ pose.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Chengyao did a 翻白眼 pose when collecting his prize.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Oh yah, Chengyao also won the "Best Dressed" Award.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Little trivia: Actually he isn't the 1st choice. Hahaha. We thought of giving to Wynlyn, come came in a violet top with a purple brooch, and matching purple floral print shirt. Hai, too bad she had to rushed off as her "carriage" is waiting for her. So the panel of judges (guess who?) decided to present the award to Chengyao for his creativity (think of "the Mole"). Anyway , the prize is just a purple furry crown. But it was definately interesting to get a guy to wear one. Heng that crown fits!

I had also prepared guest favours for every guests, so that they have "a piece of purple" to bring home. Hahaha.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

There are two versions, one contains Grape Jelly and Dark Chocolate Hersheys ( in dark purple foil) while another is a combination of Hershey and Grape Marshmallow.
Thanks to Welly who helped in the wrapping.
The party ends before the scheduled time , but by the time we cleared the stuff it was already 6pm.

Hmm shall post pics of my presents and provide you some trivia in Part 4. (the finale!)

14 Aug 2005 Part 2

Ok here’s Part 2 after such a long delay. ( I had put up the pics of those who were “punished” in my previous post, so check them out.)

At 3pm, not All the guests have arrived, and I couldn’t start the opening dance as planned. After 15 minutes of delay, I decided to start the event, those who missed out our “happening” dance are gonna to be sorry for being late. Heh heh

Turned out that “Happening” dance is really really “Happening” --- in a sarcastic way.

I couldn’t find the CD-R that I had burned, but before the event I had asked Chengyao to bring his CD as a back-up. Haha, never expected that his CD is a pirated copy.

So we posed in front of the stage. Preparing to give the best dance ever.

Guess what????? Out of so many songs, the track was the only one with problem. The music was stopping after every 2 secs. But we 坚持到底。 We simply followed the music: every time it freezes, we also freeze.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

See, even the Mr Cool was laughing away on the stage.

But really gotta thank him for helping to 串场。While I am off to see what happened to the CD, poor Chengyao and Ailing had to bear with their “Out-stretched hand “ poses. Jianhua came up with the “changing screensaver” idea on the spur of the moment, thus leading the two dancers to keep the audience entertained.

I thought everything was fine when Ah Du could play the track again, but it turned out that the music was playing in a “slow motion” mode. Hai, 我们也豁出去,followed the music and danced in a slow motion too (can you imagine the SHE’s 对号入座 dance in slow motion?!!!!!) . Damm paiseh, but we had a great laugh over it.

Lesson learnt: Get ORIGINAL CD.

Trivia: Hmm, the strange thing is, at the end of the event, I found the CD I had bought along in the same folder I had been searching earlier. But nevermind lah, like what Xinping said, that was something memorable.

Next on the list was Yiwei’s performance. After the previous rounds of saboing him to perform on Muchuan’s stage, guess he is very familiar with the “environment”. Reason why I asked him to performance is because my friends who do not come from TXY like his singing too.

Thank you very much, Yiwei, for yr efforts. Thanks for printing the lyrics for my guests too. I didn’t thought of that!

Next event was a special programme. Of cos I am not performing. I actually kept that a secret during the discussion meeting with Ah Du, Jianhua and Welly . Until that morning, I told Welly what I was planning to do. Actually it is just something simple, I felt guity that everyone was celebrating my birthday (my birthday doesn’t fall on that day) when there is a friend whose's birthday falls onthat day and Ah Du’s birthday also falls ard that period.

So got them a cake each and got the rest to sing them birthday song. One thing I must admit, I wasn’t very good in conducting that segment (gosh where had my hosting skills gone).

Next segment: The Introduction.
I had to cut short that segment cos “time overrun”, so it was just a brief and simple thing of getting everyone to stand up and wave to the rest as I call out their names. I was thinking the atmosphere would have been “wilder” if I get them to say how they get to know me instead. Yah, that was my original plan….

Finally after an hour, the audience get to hear Ah Du and Jianhua sing. At times, it can be quite confusing as I have dedications for them to read out, but the people whom I dedicate the songs to were away. The “best” part was when I need to record Jianhua singing 李圣杰 的《灰色地带》but he had started singing. I actually said “ rewind , rewind” and there was this discussion abt where to look, 先进寄语还是音乐,etc..

( I had looked through the video clip. Hmmm, quite good lah, comsidering taht's a first attempt. 他还会对着镜头放电。 放电也没有用,人家结婚了。 Hahahhaha. Just that he made a mistake when he repeated the chorus. To me, it’s rather obvious. Wonder if JQ can spot it when she views the file).

Ah Du's rendition of “I’ll Always love you” is awesome. Noticed that the audience gradually stop their conversations and pay attention to him. Apart from his singing, you really can’t hear any other voices.

That song is a killer, like what he said, all the songs I chosen for him to sing are rather difficult. Hahah , as a vocal instructor, he should “show some standard” mah. keke

He also got people to notice the song “活该” too. At least I have someone asking for that mp3 file of that song days after the event.

Overall, Ah Du is the “crowd wow-er”, who made the guests gasping “wow, wow wow” with his impressive singing. Jianhua on the other hand is the “crowd-pleaser”, keeping the guests entertained with his sense of humour (though some of his jokes are a bit 色). He certainly made lots of faces lit up by singing 童话 --- a song which was not included in my list. He should be proud that my English-speaking friends like that song.

Yeah, shall I mentioned that halfway through their performance, that “revengeful” Alvinn suddenly stood up and sabo-ed me to go on the stage to sing. Still asked in a fake polite manner “ 我们可以请(我的名字) 上台唱歌吗?“。 After months of knowing him as a colleague, I know he is never that polite lor. Hahahah. Obviously, that was a “sabotage”. The two singers even led the crowd chanting to get me on stage.

Grrrhh, at that time I was at the VIP table, with my shoes removed, prepared to take pics with the “dark side” and the “purple side”. So it was kind of 狼狈 that I have to quickly scramble off that platform & wore my shoes with nearly 40 pairs of eyes watching me.

I was physically prepared (I had brought along the lyrics ) to be sabo to sing on stage but NOT mentally prepared . Cos firstly, I am not steady when it comes to singing on stage in front of so many people. And secondly, I thought I could escape with my so-call “perfect” programme list which shows a fully lined-up of events for the 3 hours. I thought with a tight schedule, there won’t be a chance to sabo me. I never expect to be called up right in the midst of their performance. Darn!!!

Needless to say, I fared worse than usual practice sessions.
( Heng Mr Li isn’t there, or else I would have drill a hole and hide in there forever.) Keke.

Ok, Shall continue with Part 3 another day.

13 Aug & 14 Aug Part 1

This is gonna be a very long entry, and with lots of pics too. Actually I am still waiting for another set of pics, but think I shall post with whatever I have now.

13 Aug 2005

Attended the Annual TXY BanJiang Dian Li at SPH Auditorium. Really have the “老鹰心态” –-- just go there eat buffet, see familiar faces, chat with those LTNS (Long time no see) ppl then watch the “youngsters” performing and receiving awards. Gone were the days were we are so “on”, sitting at the first few rows, cheering for yr groups members if you are not nominated for any awards.

This year’s Pyramid Trophies were much shinier compared to those I had received years ago. Instead of a coloured base, it is clear. From far, they really look like small crystal trophies.
Hmm, this yr theme is rather creative: 走光. It’s not what you are thinking. The “走光:” here means “走在星光大道”. They dim the lights of the hall and u can see a passage way created with fluorescent lightsticks. Cool huh! Looks as if u'd stepped into some happening pub.

Congrats to Chengyao, Jiahao and Sips for winning the best Newcomer Award. Out of the 6 awards for this category, these “muchuan goers” had grabbed 50 % of them. I always feel that winning the Newcomer award is more meaningful than winning other awards such as 最佳校园报道奖, 写作表现奖。因为“新人奖”只能拿一次,机会也只有那么一次。

U know what happened, I spoilt one of my heels of my high heels shoes. Cos I was trying to burst two balloons at one go. So I jumped into the air, hoping when landed, the heels will poke thru the balloons. But one of the balloon flew away and the impact of the heel hitting the floor cause it to break off. Hahaha.

Yeah , I still can laugh abt it . Luckily my house is nearby and I took a cab back home.

14 Aug 2005

Yes that is the “big day”. A gathering cum birthday celebration. Though my birthday falls on 17th. Met ppl whom I have not met for a long time, like Xinping and Xingfang, who are back in Singapore. Then there are these very busy ppl like Zhongwei , Liyun. To the TXYs, it is more like a gathering of old and new "yings". I purposely put them seated at a corner so that they can chat with each other.

Ok shall try to describe the line-up of the events in correct order.

I had purposely trying to keeping everything a secret, cos I want everyone to be surpised by how "Purplish" the whole event can be. Purple balloons, plates, forks, ribbons, decors.... Initially I wanted everything to be dark and light purple, but was advised to add a hint of other colour too. Pink was choosen as it is an element of purple. So that's why you can find pink plates , forks and balloons too. Think I had succeed in getting everyone to remember abt this 紫色的梦幻世界。

Early noon, after engaging my gor’s help with the collection the food, we proceed to Muchuan to meet up with Welly, Yaoxian, Yanfen, Wenxin to set up and decorate the place.

Saw Jianhua abt to complete making the flower-balloons arch at the entrance. Wow, really so pretty! Looks as if u are going to step into some fantasy land.

Then I saw the two standing balloon sculptures in front of the stage. 漂亮到我对它们爱不释手。

Must really have to thank Jianhua ,and Ah du too ,for waking up early to do these balloon sculptures and arch. And really feeling guilty that because of my event, they din get to eat their lunch. Ah du even have to make changes to his lessons schedule for that day. Paiseh, Paiseh.

I almost thought I did not bring the seating plan and was like saying “Shit! Shit! Shit!”.
Yah, I am not that demure as I looked that day. 有话就说,由屁就放。我才不会像一些人,在别人面前假扮淑女。( & I dun mean any from our group).

How strange is it that after I said that. I found the stack of paper containing the seating plan. Then Yaoxian helped me to sort them out into groups. She was so amazed to find the names of ppl she seldom see in TXY in my guest list. Yah, really honoured that "they gave me face".

At 1.30pm, I was getting a bit flustered, cos we were a bit behind schedule. My sandwich maker, Yanfen had not arrived cos she kinda confused with the directions to get to Muchuan. She said that the view of the area in the day was different from what she seen at night.

By 2pm, we had set up the main table. I dunno if you had notice the purple ribbon with little flower rosettes wound around the sides of the table. These are done by Welly, whom I called her as ‘ Miss 包山包海’ (Cos she really help out with lots of things)

See this poster.

(I purposely ‘erased’ my name). Welly not only designed it, but also sent it for printing.

She is also my hairdresser too, bringing her hair straighthener to “kiap” my hair straight. Yanfen act as her assistance. Hahaha. I am actually their ‘guinea pig’ as they never style ppl's hair before. But I think they did a good job .

Yiwei came in earlier than the rest as he needs to test out the sound system. Really, when I asked him to put up a performance, as my friends like his singing, I expect him to “anyhow choose a song”, bring along the karaoke VCD and sing. Imagine my surprise when he told me that his is going to sing not one, but two songs, and unplugged too! Such an honour.

Milie also came down and helped to tie the ribbons on the glasses. Really have to thank her for that.

The registration table was also set up ard 2pm. Gor helped to decorate it. But he kinda played cheat. He took a flower balloon which was done by Jianhua and hang it at one corner......

Since he got nothing to do liao, and I was told that Peishan (the original emcee for the day, who was also supposed to be guarding the registration table) will be late, as she had a triathlon competition that day, hence I made my gor help out at the table too.

They were given two “swords” to punish anyone who disobey the dress code.

But gor is very disgusting, he claimed that innocent-looking balloon looks like something.........
And he did this:

Arh bish!

The first guest to arrive is …… Regina. We were still clearing the mess when she stepped in. She wore a lacy yellow top and floral skirt, and obviously, she fulfilled the dress code.

Heh heh, think we were more like waiting to carry put “punishment” than waiting for guests to arrive. The dress code of the day was “it’s so S~”. That is: everyone must have to dress with a style similar to mine -– in shades of lavender or violet, or with lace, ribbons, rosettes, brooches….

My ex-colleagues from SPH Magazines arrived and hahaha Alvinn had the honour of being the 1st offender. He was made to draw out one of the forfeits (all are girly stuff) from a bag and wear it.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

But I, being such a nice person, only required them to wear it for photo taking only. The Polaroid of him smiling cheekily (still dare to smile!) was pasted on the “Hall of shame”. Think many people din noticed it, as it was pasted at the back , near the food table.

Was looking through the photos that Haoyi took of the group. Haha so funny!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Siping, one of my junior leader 浩浩荡荡地走向木船。She was still a distance away from the table and we could hear her say “ See ! My group is the best. With me, we are never late.” Woah….. She didn’t know that her group isn’t the first group arrive.

Then everyone asked me to look at Chengyao. U know what he did?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

See his “mole”.
*Faint*. But really creative right?

Jiahao was punished too. He drew out a flowery brooch and wore it over his ear.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Uncle Qingrong also disobeyed the rules, and was made to wear a furry hair band.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

My discipline team must be too excited with so many ppl coming. I caught one of the “ 落网之鱼” happily sitting inside muchuan. He happened to be the “authethic” birthday boy of the day (14th)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Of cos, I dragged him out for my discipline team to 处理。

Ok. Think I shall continue describing the rest of the event in Part 2.

This is the 1st birthday card I received this year.
It certainly matches my theme for this year.
So surprised to receive it from a secondary school pal whom I have not met for a couple of years.
(we kept in touch thru festive cards).
She mentioned that she decided to buy this card cos she thought it’s is a nice colour.
What great taste! Haha.
