Food, glorious Food
Why this title? Hmm cos the main subject I can think of is just food.
Met up with a friend today, tried out Ramen Ten at Far East. Food's not bad but servings rather small for a $10 meal.
Was telling my friend how ashamed I was for failing to know what's happening in my neighbourhood. Only until yesterday did I realised that Bishan's Junction 8 shopping centre had opened "Junction Mark8t" at Basement One. There were new shops/restaurants like Ya Kun Toast (the one which i had been longing to go to), Thai Express, takopachi, corochan, Sweet Secrets (relocated from Lev 1), Polar puff and cakes. In addition, Sakae Sushi express and some other eateries are coming up soon.
hmm wonder where did they get the space from???
Bishan is my "地盘" (di4 pan3), yet I dunno there are so many new eateries. Can't blame me lah, cos now I took bus from Toa Payoh straight home after work, seldom pass by Bishan central leh. Anyway, must try them out someday.
While my friend and I were walking along the way from Orchard far East to Marina Square ( yes we walked!), we checked out the menu and the prices of Heng Restuarant at Scotts shopping centre. Didn't know that my friend, although not a Hainanese, had read abt it and was interested to try the dishes. After glancing though the menu, we decided it would be better if we asked a few more friends to join us so that we can sample more dishes.
So, as she puts it: "next stop-- settle on eating hainanese dishes".
Ps: still "falsely wide awake" now, cos I had drank a cup io ice blended Irish cream Mocha at Pacific Coffee. Really need to sleep now, cos tomorrow (today?) had to rush for hip hop class.
