4 Brothers & White Beauty, The Ark Club

Attended a free preview of Four Brothers on Weds evening, thanks to my ex-colleagues who included me in their “guests list”. Thought I will be early, but ended up reaching there just in time as I had spent quite some time queuing up and then frying the Ham-Chi-Pengs that I had bought for them.
Yes, the famous Ham-Chi-Peng Stall located at Maxwell Food Centre. 7 for $1. But self-service hor. First time frying those HCPs, almost couldn’t handle with the flipping of 14 pieces at one go. Fortunately, the lady stallholder and the auntie behind me also helped out.

As for the movie, ahem, I’ll grade it a “C”. It's a NC16 film as it contains the 2 Vs—Violence & Vulgarities. Like what my friends said, their dialogues were all peppered with the F* word for almost every sentence.

Went for dessert after the movie ended. The place where my friends wanted to patronize was full house. So we walked futher downed the street to another dessert shop called Indulge , located at Tan Quee Lan Street.

Guess what. Just outside the shop, we saw a signboard “ Wed Nites. Ladies Nite. 50% off."

Mai tu liao. Go in lah. Our group consisted of 6 gals and 1 guy. So, only "Shrek" loo-gee.

I ordered this dessert call “White Beauty” (还嫌自己不够白啊?), which is actually White Almond Paste. $3 for a small bowl, but of cos, being a lady, I only need to pay $1.50. Took a pic of the dessert.

Yeah, very white hor.

“Fr”, the professional photographer commented that the whole feeling was too cold. And said I should be taking something like that.

With human element.

Understand what she mean, But in this case I wanna show my friend how the dessert looks like mah. If I took something like that, seems to lose the focal point. My verdict of the dessert: I ‘d prefer the Chinatown $1 almond paste and Indulge’s $3 almond paste. But guess it is worth it to pay $1.50 to chill out in the cozy dessert place . There are other desserts too. Perhaps we gals can try them someday. The place is rather comfy, with sofa seats and music playing in the background. They were playing 游鸿明’s album that nite. It had been quite some time since I last listened to his hits such as 七月一号,恋上另个人.

Tour of The Ark Club
Went for a "tour" of the Ark Club located at Safra Town Club located opposite Clark Quay MRT on Thur evening. The Ark Music school have been shifted from Apollo Centre to Safra.

Alicia, who is the lady boss gave me a tour of the Ark Club, which tool up the whole of level 3 . The left wing was the spa wing. Saw the steam bath area, the lockers, changing room, massage room. Then went up to the forth floor which is the gym (where the Safra members were exercising) and the jacuzzi. Hmm, guess soon there will be Ark Club-cum Safra gym package offered to Ark Members.
This is what you see when you stepped out from the lift (the reception area is actually on yr left).

I wonder if the vocal instructors are fed up, will they resort to throwing these pebbles at their students? Kekeke.

Went into the classroom. Yes, There is actually a wash basin and mirror in each classrooms as the whole level used to be a spa centre . This naughty student made faces at me when I was taking the pic. =P

This is the view of the classroom. I was aready standing at the furthest end of the room. Notice the white thingy at the side?

It is something like this. A shower tap?

Nice decor on the left wall of the classroom.
Hmm...... that's all, the rest of the photos din turn out well.

Juz for laffs

Four Friends At A Party

Four friends, who hadn't seen each other in 30 years, reunited at a party.
After several drinks, one of the men had to use the rest room. Those who
remained talked about their kids.

The first guy said, "My son is my pride and joy. He started working at a
successful company at the bottom of the barrel. He studied Economics and
Business Administration and soon began to climb the corporate ladder and now
he's the president of the company. He became so rich that he gave his best
friend a top of the line Mercedes for his birthday."

The second guy said, "Damn, that's terrific! My son is also my pride and
joy. He started working for a big airline, then went to flight school to
become a pilot. Eventually he became a partner in the company, where he owns
the majority of its assets. He's so rich that he gave his best friend a
brand new jet for his birthday."

The third man said: "Well, that's terrific! My son studied in the best
universities and became an engineer. Then he started his own construction
company and is now a multimillionaire. He also gave away something very nice
and expensive to his best friend for his birthday: A 30,000 square foot
mansion."

The three friends congratulated each other just as the fourth returned from
the rest-room and asked: "What are all the congratulations for?"

One of the three said: "We were talking about the pride we feel for the
successes of our sons. ..What about your son?"

The fourth man replied: "My son is gay and makes a living dancing as a
stripper at a nightclub. The three friends said: "What a shame...what a
disappointment." The fourth man replied: "No, I'm not ashamed. He's my son
and I love him. And he's lucky, too. His birthday just passed the other day
and he received a beautiful 30,000 square foot mansion, a brand new jet and a
top of the line Mercedes from his three boyfriends."

Flower Character, Mini Reno, Coward

Flower Character according to Your Birth Date

如果我是花,我像什么花呢?
Received this in an excel document from my friend. Here's my result:

http://image63.webshots.com/163/4/79/58/462847958VLRbcj_ph.jpg

(Click on the link)

Rather accurate right?
Those who are interested can provide me yr birthdate. I know it's easier to send yr report to you but then the original file is password protected. Which is why I can't cut and paste my results here. Have to change it to a pic file. Oh yah, the lace frame was done by me. Testing on the effects.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Noticed I had done some "touch-ups" to my blog. Didn't wanna make too much changes. Seems a bit messy, but hey, I do not have any experience with webpage design and no knowledge of HTM codes. Well, all these are done by trial and error. I am relieved that I did not turn my blog upside down. Hahaha

I used to type ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* as a divider. Will be replacing them with flowery or lace bars images I had taken from the Classic Theme website (url provided at the left column of my blog).

Rather "my style", right?

I know no matter how I wish to keep this blog private for my friends' viewing only, strangers can still stumble into this blog.
What I dislike is strangers purposely save my blog address & view it everyday.
What I dislike is that they remain silent, despite me asking them to leave a note.

Cowards!

I do surf blogs (other than my friends') occasionally, and if the writer asks, I will admit I did read his/her blog. Take a recent case for example, the blogger asked for the mp3 of Mojacko's Theme Song from her readers. I do have the file, I can choose to remain silent, but yet I contact her and sent her the file.

这是我的原则。

To the people whom I do not consider as my friends: You know I am now keeping track of yr visits. You can try to uncover yr tracks by using different computers at different times. You can say that if I choose to blog, I am already making my entries public. True, you win on this stand. 可是论人格,你输了。做事偷偷摸摸,做了又不承认,真是只缩头乌龟!

I don't wish to force my friends to sign up accounts just to view my blog on other sites which provide more privacy. That's why I am still keeping this blog. If you insist on reading this, it simply shows that you have no respects for others; you don't have a life of your own and you don't understand instructions....
( Well, I can come up with more if I want to. And if this happened to my sis, I'll bet she will come up with something harsher and added a string of expletives. Haha)

Weekends 24-25 Sep

Walked quite a lot on weekends.
On Sat evening, walked from my grandma’s home to the library when normally I would have taken a bus. Then walked back from library to home (and that is from one town to the neighbouring town lor). I did something while I was walking, that I shall talked abt it on my other blog.
Then on Sun, I dunno what the hell gotten into my mind, I walked from Chinatown to Bugis, just because I have a craving for bubble tea before I board the bus home. Wanted to take pics of the MICA and Central Fire Station as I walked past them, but wasn’t feeling very confident with capturing them from the right angles.

Watched Adam Sandler’s The longest Yard on Sat morning (yeah redeem a pairs of tickets with the free GV movie vouchers). 我想,这次会去看Adam Sandler 的电影, 代表我已经打开了心结。
I had given Sandler’s “50 First Dates” a miss last year (despite all the positive reviews) cos I know watching Sandler’s movie will bring back painful memories of my 2nd ex. He’s a fan of Sandler. Our first movie date was spent watching “Punch Drunk Love” (staring Adam Sandler and Emily Watson). That was when we saw the trailer for Sandler’s other movie” Anger Management” and that was our 2nd movie together. I can still remember vividly where and what happened we caught “anger Management” as it happened during a difficult period. “Difficult period” as in it was the SARS period. That was the first time I entered a cinema theatre which smelt like a hospital ward (from the antiseptic).

The Longest Yard was rather different from Sandler’s past movies. Less gags and slapsticks but it touched more on the characters. You actually feel for the other characters too. One major difference. There is no female lead in this movies (No Drew Barrymore, no Marisa Tomei), unless u count the effeminate cheerleaders. Hahaha.

很“男性”的电影。最近不知怎么搞的,跟这类电影很有缘。这个星期又有免费电影 (Four Brothers)看。而且还是首映哦!可是刚刚去查看review, 好像是部充满暴力
和血腥的电影…

Who's reading? Chocolates. Shall I tell?

I feel like asking the same question Ailing asked in her blog weeks ago: I wonder who reads my blog. Drop me a note , pls.

Or shall I put it this way: I wonder who are the ones who read my blog regularly? Especially people I dunno. Yes, especially to the one who works in Carlton. Noticed that you read my blog almost everyday, except weekends. I presume you read my blog while at work huh?

This blog is to keep my friends updated abt my recent happenings. Since you don’t know me in real life, what makes you want to read my blog regularly? I wonder….

Meiji Choco-Café Chocolates

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Haha actually I had eaten them up. Hmmm, well, not all, one was eaten by YF & GX.
Bought them after reading a review from The Straits Time. Like their packaging and of course, I can’t resist chocolates. Keke.

These are just 4 out of 56 flavours from Choco-Café by Meiji. According to the report, these chocolates are carefully concocted using blends of selected cocoa bean worldwide. Rather disappointed to find out that the Aztecan Chilli (No.41) &Black Pepper Chocolates (No. 42) were all sold out. Wanted to see if my “chilli-loving” friends can tahan their fiery taste. Guessed I was too late as I only went to check out the shop weeks after the news review.

So bought 4 out of the 6-7 flavours available at Asylum (that’s the name of the shop. It seems like a boutique, actually.). Those who know me will know the reason why I bought No.46 (*wink). The sales staff told me that they are still considering re-stocking these chocolates as they have to specially import them from Japan.

YF and I both agreed that these chocolates were smooth and have the right richness. Haha. 一分钱,一分货嘛! Yah, these chocolate are rather expensive (though not that ex as Godiva), considering each is about 5 cm square. No. 1-24 cost $4.50 each while No. 25 – 56 cost $3.50 each.

vexed & Charisma

“ 烦哪烦哪烦得不能呼吸
烦哪烦哪烦得没有力气

烦哪我烦哪”

I feel like screaming the above these few days!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Ok, here’s something I mentioned that I will talked abt regarding the comments made by XM and ML last Monday.
Was showing them the pics taken at my birthday gathering and XM pointed out that despite there were other gals who are cute and pretty, it was C who left behind an impression in their minds. Not because of her size, but the way she carries herself.

Agree with that point. C is affable to everyone; you will be touched by her warmness even when you just got to know her.
她所散发的热情,是很真诚的,不像一些很“PR”的人。

I guessed her charisma have something to do with her upbringing. Perhaps living in the States during her childhood years had molded her to be more expressive than most Singaporeans. I admired the way she can keep the conversation going and the way she is not afraid to make herself look ugly or old (few would dare to purposely smeared chocolate on their teeth when taking pics!).

C seems to have a flair for the arts – styling, drawing, writing. I always find that people associated with the Arts have a certain charisma of their own. And upon asking my gor, he gave his views as below:

“I think they r a bit out of phase wif the world, so "normal" ppl will b curious abt how they think, tok & react. That’s y they will seemingly capture ppl's attention.Plus art is alwaz abt life & expression, which everyone is familiar wif. Artists tend to concentrate olot on understand life, people & how to express themselves thru various forms. dats y they seem to b able to see things from a view which other may not& hence ppl like to listen to them. "

Agree?

有魅力的人,都是有内涵的。. “内涵”是可以靠自己在生活中多读,多看,多学,培养出来的。也许,经过一段时间的“心灵进修”,个人魅力才会散发出来。

XM & ML commented that they hope they will be as charismatic as C when they grow older. ML’s view is: Charisma is more attractive than beauty. Besides, it lasts longer than superficial appearance.Beauty can be man-made. But charisma, you either have it or you dun.

As for me, I dun mind not being good-looking (which I never was anyway), not having wrinkle-free face or a nice figure when I aged. But I hope to age with grace, and have a fraction of her charisma and elegance.

The “Her” refers to:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Audrey Hepburn.

I was enchanted by her looks when I came across her biography years ago (think I was in sec school then). Read that Audrey Hepburn was not considered a beauty in her time, considering her bushy eyebrows, tall and skinny frame. Her figure was incomparable to Marilyn Monroe – the sultry actress in her era. However, she captivated the audiences with her slender figure, perfect posture, graceful movements, presenting the public with a new ideal of woman. During the last five year of her life, she served as Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, and involved in a couple of field missions to third-world countries.

外在美怎能胜过内在美? 也许这是为什么人们会觉得她在年老时,还是那么美丽又有魅力。

Ok ok, Audrey Hepburn’s grace, elegance and charisma seem too difficult to attain. I do strive to be as captivating and charismatic like C. when I reached my 30s.

weekend, ice-cream, candles, buffet

Gluttony.
I am guilty of that.
Instead of sticking to light meals when I was recovering from my cold, I ate sinful stuffs over the weekend.

Well who can resist ice-cream from Island Creamery?

Slurps!

Bought a tub of Tiger (beer) Sorbet and Teh Tarik ice cream to Muchuan on 17 Sep, Sat. After the Monster’s performance, everyone was having fun digging and fighting for ice-cream. Oh well, not everyone, except one. Tiger Sorbet was rather foamy, but shiok. As expected, the gals preferred the Teh Tarik ice cream instead. That is my favourite favour. A MUST-HAVE favour whenever I dropped by at the ice cream parlor.
In less than 30 mins, the two tubs of ice cream were consumed by ard 9 of us. Not even a scoop left for me to bring home. Haha Really I don’t mind bringing the melted ice cream and refreeze it in the freeze. Now craving for more…..

Anyway, must really thank my ex-colleague for bring me to the ice-cream parlor last year. Now then I realize, my first visit to the place was exactly a year and a day ago. See my past entry (
http://harmoniewong.blogspot.com/2004/09/maxim-trade-party-16-sep.html). Since then, I will crave for Island Creamery’s Ice Cream than Hagen Daz’s. keke.

Hmmm, should I ask the management from Island Creamery to give me special discounts, as I had recommended quite a few friends to purchase their ice-cream. Yah Flutterby and Sips are just two of the few to name. =P

Shall talked abt the Monsters’ Sat performance. As it was “Mooncake Festival Eve”, we decided to “应节”, and dedicated quite a few songs associated with 月. Ah Du sang “Fly Me to the Moon” and Ximei sang “月光” . Ah Du acted as “乌拉博士”,answering the questions posted by Jianhua .

Imagine a 大男人 asking these questions in a child-like innocent manner:

1) 为什么十五月圆时,犯罪率比较高?
2) 神话跟童话有什么不同?
3) 为什么看到月亮时,就看不到星星?

*Faints*

But then I burst out laughing and bang the table unknowingly when I heard the comment to the 2nd question “神话(的人物)有个鼻子大大的。” Well, they were referring to the movie神话, not神话 as in “fables”.

Something for you to ponder abt. Ximei mentioned on stage that 童话时不健康的。As in they seem to portray that only the pretty ones will have good ending. Take Cinderella for example, she got her prince in the end, but not the ugly step sisters. But then why must she crave to attend the ball and impress the prince. Can’t she marry a commoner? 这么说灰姑娘是有点爱慕虚荣的。

Yah I agree with her. Why must Snow White marry the prince, why din she marry one of the dwarfs. Why Rapunzel choose to let down her hair to the prince? Ariel the mermaid also falls in love with a prince. No wonder gals grow up fantasying about meeting “Prince Charmings”.

Heard quite a few “new songs”, such as “ Amen” by Meilian, “那年的情书” by Ximei ( keke, I dedicate that so that I can also learn from her), “黑夜过后”by Jianhua and “月亮代表谁的心” by Ah Du。With the two keyboards setup, we also get to hear songs like“飞机场的10.30” &“爸,我回来了”。

Took a cab down to Orchard Cineleisure to have our supper. Thought of playing lanterns and candles at Orchard but couldn’t seem to find a suitable spot. Hence we proceed to West Coast park (again!) to play with candles, lanterns and sparklers.

Scared the wits out of Ah Du when I sneaked past him, holding a lantern close to my face and with my fringe pulled to cover the front of my face. Was made to re-enact the scene to Jianhua , but this time round, was holding a green lantern ( cos they think the green lantern looked more eerie.). Songyu and Yuquan created “smoky effect” by running around with lighted sparklers.

Hello! This is 8 月15,不是7 月15!

We were rather bo-liao, just sit around and burning candles. Think Jiahao was so bored that he decided to do nail art by letting candle wax dripped onto his finger nail. Eeeeowwww!

18 Sep 05

Had a steamboat buffet dinner (restaurant is located at Temple Street) with the two fair-skinned guys after the usual “Sunday event”. Sips can’t join us as her mum’s cooking. Ordered abt 7 servings of beef, 5 servings of pork and a serving of chicken, tou fu skin, fishballs, crabsticks, prawn, dumplings, mushrooms and chai xin. There goes my diet!

16 Sep (MC) &15 Sep 05 (updated)

16 Sept 2005 (Fri)

Broke my record today. As in my clean record of not taking MC ever since I joined the company in Feb. What to do????? Battled the cold for 3 days yet self-medication of Panadol Cold Remedy and Panadol Cold tablets didn't seems to work this time round. So after 2.5 days of battling, I decided to see a doc.

Hence, I was givem this 3-in-1 pink tablets which I had never been prescribed before. These tablets doesn't come cheap.. Just this tablets and consultation cost $20. I have this suspicion that doc will prescribe diffrent medication if you are under different schemes. Noticed that when I am under company subsidised medical scheme, where I am paying abt $2 or $3 for each trip, I will be givem more common medicine like Clarinase, Paracetamol.

Due to the drowsiness effect of the medicine prescibed, I was give a half day MC for me to go home and rest. Finally have this luxury of sleeping from 4.30 to 7.30pm.

Ok gotta take medicine and date the 周公 soon. But first, I need to update something regarding 15 Sep.

15 Sep 2005 (Thur)
Met up with an old friend for dinner. Hmm u know who u are if u happened to read this. Haha think u were the one who first refer me as “old friend” in yr blog.

Speaking abt yr blog, can u please update it. Haha, stagnant for months liao. You were mentioning how nice it is for friends to keep u update through their blogs, But u leh….:P

Anyway I hope yr problems will be solved soon.

Well, u better keep yr promise of giving me a big angpow on my wedding dinner. Haha!
But hmmmmmmmmm, how to put it leh, when you mentioned:

"会啊!我还会包大红包给你。 只不过我不会给你, 我会给你老公。 因为你妈妈会收去(如果给我)。"

I was laughing at how true it can be. Sad, but true. Can I say yr comment was really "黑色幽默", "一针见血" ?

However, I 've got a feeling that you might be getting married before me. So I'll have to prepare big ang pow for you first lor.

Ok, get back to the main topic.

Dinner was supposed to be at Marina Square, but it was to change having it at this restaurant or rather a café called The Asian Kitchen (by Vien Tai Restaurants) which was located the previous Delifrance premises at CitiLink Mall.

The interiors was made up of black and red—rather oriental feeling. I ordered a bowl on Prawn Wantan La Mian ($8.70) and Avocada Snow( $5). The noodles were not bad, I like the soup. However as for the avocado drink, I wonder is it because I had lost some sense of taste due to the cold that I dun seems to find any taste of avocado in the drink.

Aiyah! Should have take photo of our food!

Service was rather good. We were greeted by the waitresses/waiters when we stepped in and left. And my friend’s glass of Chinese tea was refilled 3 times within the 1 hr meal. And his Chinese tea costs $1 only lor! What stunned me was after the waitress had cleared our table and we were still chatting, I was served with a glass of ice water. Obviously the waitress had seen that I had almost finished my avocado drink. Most eateries would have discouraged patrons from hanging around for more customers turnover. Instead of hinting us to leave by not refilling the drinks, they served us drinks instead!

Keke now I know where I can hang out with my friends over a long dinner :P

12-13 Sep 05

Hmm now it’s back to this 流水账 cum Rojak mode.

First, just a short note on my weekend for archival purpose:.

10 Sep : Walked around Compass Point with W. Disappointed to find that the Aussie café ( was it Yaba Doo?) had folded. Dropped by at Hello! Shop to say a Hi! to JJ. Waited for her to knock off and we proceed to window shopping at Bugis Junction’s midnite sale.
*****************************
12 Sep 05

Went to Muchuan after work. Haven’t been supporting the Monster for a month? Hahah , because my best friend YF, 难得 suggested going to Muchuan on Mon (she’s having her holiday break) , so die die also must accompany her.

Gexin also came at the last minute. In a way, it is good cos he will be footing the bill for YF. Haha. And YF can stay longer @ Muchuan with him sending her home.

Anyway, I bought my albums along for them to reminisce. Now have to back track to what happened last week.
Last Thur (8 Sep),I had dropped by YF’s neighbourhood to have a chat over Tau-huey ( Beancurd). Uncles, Ah peks like to have chats over kopi while we gals are slightly ‘higher-class’, chatting over bowls of tau-huey. Hahaha. Ended up I had to take away the beancurds and have dinner at her house instead. If not for this change of plans, I would have the chance to see the photo albums she had compiled. Really touched upon seeing she still kept the pics we had taken so many years ago.

“你看!你看!我以前那么难看啰!头发短得像男孩子,眼镜还会reflect的!” She exclaimed while I was looking at the pics taken during our sec school days. (YF is actually my junior.)

“我也好不到哪里去啦!头发pong pong 的!” I replied.

Yeah, we both concluded that something had gone wrong during our Sec School and Poly/ JC days. Sooooo “orbit”. Must be those thick plastic spec frames and the hair!.

Noticed the similarities between her childhood photos and mines. The furniture, right down to the cushion cover, were of the same style. And dunno why our parents like to make us pose with big soft toys BESIDE us.

Back to what happened over dinner on Monday. Was joking to Gexin and Yanfen that I can blackmail them with their past year photos. YF even begged me to burn them. Hahaha.

Then we browse through my two albums together and pointed out that some of our friends had also been through “major facelifts” too. Some gals are slowing turning to be more and more feminine. Our conclusion: It must be LOVE.

It was raining heavily when we make our way to Muchuan.

Dark skies.
Raindrops hitting on the covered- walkways.
Walked pass the Chinese restaurant @ Apollo.
Bride with her back facing us.
She turned around, we caught a glance.
We stifled our giggles.....

Until we reached a safe distance, I looked at Yanfen and said: I know what you are going to say…..

We were Muchuan’s first 3 and only patrons for the 1st hour. Blame it on the bad weather.
Specially dedicate a song of YF (of cos it’s 细水长流, what could be a better song that that?). Though she was the one who came with me during my 1st experience to Muchuan, I din have a chance to dedicate a song to her. Fortunately, the dedication was read before the other patrons came in.

The Monster sang quite a few songs from our dedication, or rather from YF’s dedication. Despite being her first time seeing Monsters’ performance, she seems to know what are the songs they often sang -- 断点,爱情不能做比较,遗失的美好. We even submitted a dedication slip, containing songs which comprise the words 黑, 来配合当晚的天气。

Gexin used to 混Muchuan before “蔡淳佳 Era” , and seems to think that the current performers will be singing the same batch of songs. Yanfen & I were like teasing him for “not being our 年代”when he asked us to write down some old songs’ titles on the dedication slip.

About four more tables were filled up since the Monsters cracked the joke about “Armageddon” (after Ah Du performed “ I don’t wanna missed a thing”). JH had faked his Singlish accent by “attempting” to pronounce that word and blurted “ ah – ma ga den” instead. 吓跑了两位站在门外的女生,但招来了一对情侣。Haha.

There were two Joke-of-the-day.

The first one happened when Ah Du was singing 流泪手心. The remaining 3 Monsters seems to pak-up to leave him alone on stage as they choose to leave the stage together for toilet break soon after Ah Du began his song. Haha I had secretly recorded him singing the chorus and had sent the file to my Taiwanese friend. Even Yanfen felt that Ah Du’s performance was impressive.

The second joke was target at Ah Du too. Apparently, some customer was inspired by the Monsters teasing abt the size of Ah Du’s head that he/she submitted a dedication slip with a rhyme written on it. I remembered hearing it from some kids . Here it goes ( I hope I’m not wrong):

大头大头,下雨不愁。
你有雨伞,我有大头

Haaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaa.
( I hope he din chance upon this post and read this :P)
ed for them

YF & GX left around 10pm, leaving me to face an awkward moment when the song 少年游I dedicated was sung. But XM & ML saved the situation by saying something touching ( but I was also feeling a bit paiseh). All I could react was to mutter a word of thanks.

Have a quick chat with XM & ML before I settled something with Ah Du. Seems like I have to make some adjustments due to the problems I am facing. Will talk abt it on my other blog another day.

13 Sep 2005, Tue

Had my “vocal practice” yesterday. Fours hrs of KTV with a friend at our neighbourhood Party World KTV .
Kaoz, she seems to have “post- Superstar syndrome”, trying out songs like 我恨我爱你,美丽笨女人。

She had tried 被爱的女人 on her own last week, and claimed that she cannot make it , so left me to 飚 that song. Hmm think I managed to reach the high notes but I lost reference after the high notes, especially when I have to sing that verse “我不要爱一再一再彩排” which was after the “killer” ----- “不要不要分开”.

Hmm think I did apply the correct vocal positioning as after 4 hrs, my throat wasn’t sore at all, despite us focusing on “pia-ing” those songs like 剪爱,真实,爱回温,伤逝,接受, 我们的爱..

For the first time, I tried 断点,痴心绝对 with “up keys”. Previously, I din know to press which buttons of the remote control to change the keys. Keke.

If that is not crazy enough, we choose May Day’s 温柔, but sang the “还你自由版’ instead. Yah, we were screaming “ 我给你自由,我给你自由……我给你全部全部全部自由……..” after the 1st chorus.

Shiok!

谈“那年的情书”

* Had a "mini revamp" of my other blog. But as for this blog, i'd prefer it to remain the way it is.
*************************

Had thought of putting up the lyrics of this song in late July. But it was put aside for other matters. So here I go:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Decided to express my thoughts in Chinese, so don’t be surprise by the change in style:
我是先从《早报。现在》的“爆米花”版接触到这首歌。还没听到歌曲时,已被歌词感动。
很欣赏林夕,能用简单的词来扣人们的心。
很认同编辑所提到林夕很巧妙地利用到“少”这个字(最后一句歌词:曾少给你的)……很简单的一个字,但用得很恰当。
我们常说:一段感情如果是因为有人介入而结束, 往往都是一方无法给另一方一些东西或感觉, 所以他/她才会爱上那“第三者”。与其说另一方不能给的,“第三者”却有办法做到。倒不如说是另一方少给那些你想从那段感情上得到的东西。毕竟在一段感情里,双方都有付出过。
说到“情书”, 非得提到张学友的《情书》。歌中有两句歌词是这么写的:
“哦可惜爱不是几滴眼泪几封情书哦”
“哦可惜爱不是忍着眼泪留着情书哦”
对啊!爱怎么可以是用情书来衡量的。即使那年的情书 (pun unintended) 写得多好,多么感人, 也不能担保两人会长相厮守一辈子。初次阅读情书,会因那些甜言蜜语和承诺而露出甜蜜的微笑;分手后重读情书,信纸上的字迹反而会令你伤心落泪。
可是女生嘛……较念旧,用情较深。即使分手了,往往会收藏自己所收到的情书。嗯….如果我说我没有收藏情书,你会信吗?是真的哦!因为…….
因为我没收过情书嘛!
哈哈!怪就怪在两位前男友没有写情书的习惯!
开玩笑的啦!他们有送类似情书的信物啦。像第一位前男友,他曾在每个月的纪念日会送我一张贺卡。我有把它们收藏起来, 可是有好几年没去碰它们了。 哈哈!
不该因此感到惭愧吧,毕竟这是件好事呀!
代表我早已收拾心情,继续往前走。
我敢说我是个蛮感情的人,朋友送的贺卡,我都不曾把它们扔掉。现在我的书橱已塞了两大包贺卡。收藏这些信件,是因为有念头:想把这些东西传给下一代。
至于我的第二位前男友:他比较“先进”—在追求我时,是利用“伊妹儿”(email lah)跟我沟通。似乎每天会发一封电子邮件给我。虽然心中没有任何甜言蜜语,因为我们谈的都是些很琐碎的事:向彼此发泄牢骚,计划下次的约会,或是在 “酸”彼此。 但从中可以感觉到他的关心,爱护。有时, 他还会给我关于人生方向的指点。所以我还保留住那些电子邮件。
无可否认,我较“珍惜”这些电子邮件。还得承认,虽然我对他没有感觉了,但最近我还是重读了一些邮件。那是因为我把它们从hotmail mailbox 转移到yahoo mailbox。所以我一边forward, 一边阅读。
感触蛮多的,不是因为我动了情,只察觉到,那时的我,想法与言谈举止没那么成熟。再来,是被我那篇篇充满语病和错别字的信件感到反感。真搞不懂当时他是怎么明白我想表达的心情。
就像《那年的情书》所提到的: “你的世界但愿都好” 。我的确有想起他,但只想知道他现在还过得好吗。
其实只要你不会因为情书上所提到的承诺而死心塌地地为他守候一辈子,情书是值得珍藏的。
should i go for it?
hmm ... still have my reservations on entering some competition (definately not related to singing or hosting!). This competition is rather unique. So far the two friends I had talked to abt had ask me to go for it.
Hmm shall I give it a try?
Well.. even if I do, I will only reveal what the competition is about to some friends if I am shortlisted.
Guess where this pic was taken.
Doesn't the colour scheme reminds you of something?
Hahahahaha.....
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Encountered a few "gek-sim" incidents since Monday:
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I had decided to 宠一宠自己. Aim to get a white custom-made teddy bear from Cool Bear Workshop once I receive my salary for October. Why not September, cos I have to spend on mooncakes. If I din buy any, someone will go ngak-ngak-ngak.
Why white teddy bear? Cos I like polar bears. But knowing Cool Bear Workshop doesn't have any polar bear soft toys on sale, guess I'll have to be contented with a white teddy bear instead.
Why a sudden urge to get a teddy bear? Kekeke, cos I saw from the TV advertorial that they sell custom-made teddy bears, and each teddy bear comes with a birth certificate! Of cos, I am up to something.... hmm will show you all the bear if there is a chance.
3-4Sep 05 & others
Ok, gotta clear my blog debts first.
Siping's Birthday Celeb. 3 Sep evening to 4 Sep dawn
To those who attended, if you were wondering why we had to gather at Orchard Rd MRT when we were having dinner @ the Kopitiam behind Cineleisure, my apologies for that. I was so occupied with stuff that I simply thought of using Orchard MRT Station as point of gathering as we are in Orchard area.
Shall let Sips to talk abt the whole event in her blog. So here is just a summary of what we did.
Have our dinner at Kopitiam, and I had "confiscated" all the presents that she received for a game to be played when we reached West Coast.
After dinner, the 3 "monsters" had to go back for their vocal practice and the rest of us wandered ard Cineleisure until 10.30pm. Those who had "curfew" had to go home while the rest proceed to West Coast Park.
Hanged out at Macs past 12 midnite while waiting for two Monsters (they were too engrossed with their vocal practice). We make use of the make-shift stage for Sips to cut her cake and then play games.
First we made her do a "star search". Not that 才华横溢出新秀, but "searching the stars". (lame...). We hid 30 stars that were made from plastic straws in the playground and limit her to find them in 10 mins . And for every 5 stars found, she can redeem back a present.
Even with our clues, Sips only managed to find 21 stars. To get back her 2 presents, she will have to do 2 forfeits. We made her sang 老鼠爱大米 to a nearby tree. Poor tree, guess all its leaves will withered the next day.
Had prepared 2 pages of games, but decided to play 中级密码 instead. Jh and Welly "tio" the first few rounds of forfeits. The forfeits that Jh suggested initally were very "physical", until he was made to sing 童话 to a tree, and saw a toad sitting between the branches. He then came up with a series of "toad forfeits". Evil of him....knowing that Welly was terrified by them.
Poor toads and trees, for they were being tormented by us.
Let me recall what were the "toad forfeits":
Kaoz. JH is a ' toad torturer'. As you see, 当蛤蟆在树上时,他要我们把它赶下树。 当蛤蟆在草丛时,他偏偏要我们逼它去爬树。 Heng I am not scared of them ( poor toad was swept off by me) , guess the more u are afraid of something, the more he will come up with forfeits associated with it.
Ended the game at 3am for a break at Mac ( bet the toads and trees were relieved when we walked away!). Then played at the flying fox area for a couple of hours. We were all drenched with pespiration after taking turns to swing each other off from the platforms.
Left West Coast at 6+ am, by the time I reached home, it was 8am liao
A knowing that glue-sniffing is bad for health, asked B for help when he wanted to quit.
But at the 7th day, A can't tahan liao and took a puff. B was pissed off by A's succumb to temptation. Yet A gave excuses that he had not been sniffing glue for 6 days liao.
6 天也好, 6 个星期也好,6年也好。一旦你吸了一口强力胶,证明你根本没成功戒毒。
有些事情,只有你自己能去控制,别人是无法帮你去控制的。如果你继续找借口或利用一些代替品,那你简直是自身自灭!
silence and blog debt
我想,很多人现在写的,多数是跟“绝对Superstar" 有关吧。
我较支持Kelly. 如果是凭昨晚的表现,本人认为应该是Kelly 获胜。
看了昨晚的表演,才发现原来我常要找的那首歌的歌名是“被爱的女人”。
*******************************************************
不知怎么的,我脑子里突然浮起当年万子良和范文芳为电视连续剧“新阿郎”所唱地片尾曲的一段旋律。
就是这句:
“别以为我不懂 我只是没有说”
这正是我的心情写照......
**************************************
Realised that I have not mention abt 25 Aug .
Though it it something simple, still need to write abt it for futher records.
Ah-Ka stepped into Muchuan Music School!
Nah, it just happened that "Ah-Ka" and "Ah Shui" met me for dinner b4 “Ah Shui“ went for her vocal class. So we also "brought Ah Ka along" to the music school.
Received a " it 's so S." present wrapped in "it's so S." way from Ah Ka.
So sweet of her.
So that's the main purpose of her rushing from MacPherson, down to Chinatown to have dinner with me at foodcourt.
Also thanks to "Ah Shui" , I had my "supplement" of magazines.
Really missed those days when I have abt 6 different magazines to bring home monthly.
But then the environment was not suitable for me.
As we chatted, I found out that there are many changes going on at my former company.
The management seems to be playing a game of "大风吹" with them, relocating them to different places.
Then, there are some ex-colleagues who are leaving the company too.
I foresee at next year, more than half of my friends won't be working there anymore.
Perhaps I should take another day off next month to visit them.
***************************
Gosh, this blog posting really sucks. I am not in the mood to do anything now.
