However, there is a story behind. "Wong"was chosen because of family's history with the surname. As for "Harmonie", it's because of a numerology pairing with "Wong". You can read more abt it in my 1st entry. I know that the online world is not 100% secure, so won't be revealing too much. & my dear friends, rest assured that I'll not be mentioning yr real life names in this blog.]

Anger..........

Tired and angry. really angry, pissed off. Not only by an event or a person, but by a few events from the start of the day.

Early in the morning, already so pissed off when I found out a 'thief' had stolen the money i has specially withdrawl from my account to pay my office's admin staff for the things I had bought at jumble sale. of all the $30 in my wallet, only $4 was left got me to survive today.

Afternoon, had packed my office stuff to shift down from 7th to 5th floor. Because of someone who only sucks up to superior, i had to shift twice. i struggled with the 8 cartons of books. imagine how heavy they were....

too tired to continue.....

"Dim Sum"

As mentioned in my previous blog, i shall now explain abt the nicknames.

Well, it just happen that one day, my close colleagues and i were out having dim sum for lunch, and were talking abt the problems we faced. Suddenly looking at the dim sum, i recalled that one day, snacking in our office, DJG mentioned that she like "Lian Yong bao" (lotus paste bun), and said "I'll be lian yong bao". Dunno why RebW compared me to "char siew so" ( he rectangular char siew pastry) as they said I am thin. Then i mentioned that RebW should be nickname as "chee chong fun" cos she's also very thin. But she prefers to call herself as "the long raisin twist".

so we looked at the dim sum and decided to nickname ourselves and some colleages using the names of dimsum.

CCP wanna be "har gao" (虾饺/ prawn dumplings) cos she liked to eat them and she's rather round like them.

WN initially want to be 水晶包 ( crystal bun) but change her mind later when we told her that crystal buns are clear on the outside, but dark on the inside. Then she nicknamed herself "egg tart".

They still refer me as "char siew so" and DJB as "lian yong bao".

As we talked abt the backstabber, curry-favouring freelancer writer, we decided to refer her as "Century egg". Dunno who described it so well as: century egg are "black" (as in black hearted) on the inside and outside and being soak with urine during preservation.

hahaha, that's a good one. Henceforth, these are our codes if we ever want to mention them when others colleagues are standing near us.

farewell and hello

18 April (Sun)
Well, say Hello to my new BenQ monitor. My old philips monitor which I had been using since my poly days, had been giving me problems for the past week that i can't tolerate any longer and decided to buy a new monitor today. Why? instead of a white screen, it showed a yellowish screen, making me strain my eyes.
At first, I was thinking of try to bear with it to see if the situation will get any better, as i am considering to get a new PC set if i am able to get into the Uni. But then.. really can't tahan liao.

I'll rather forkout $, which can be earned back that spoiling my eyesight, which is rather irreversible.

hmm, thanks WL (if u are reading this), for accompaning me to Sim Lim to shop for monitor and carrying it for me.

********
farewell (15 April, thurs)

sigh........
there's alway is Chinese Saying:该走的不走,不该走的偏偏走 (those who shouldn't leave, left; those who should leave, will still remain).

Farewell to my colleague DJG (or "Lian Yong Bao"), who resigned -- mostly because of the office politics and our supervisor's prejudice that led her to make this choice.

It's my supervisor's loss that she choose to favour another freelance writer (we had nicknamed her "Century Egg" just because she sucks up to her. In my eyes, "Lian Yong Bao" has more substance and talent than the "century egg".

Haha, why we use these food as nicknames -- read on in my next blog for more details.

Ok, i had mentioned abt this Indonesia Food at Far East Plaza.
It's Es Tella 77, located at the top floor of the shopping mall, should be the 5th level I think. It's at the corner, not far away from the cluster of food courts, but opposite the stall selling Hainanese Chicken Rice.

A must try is their Fried Chicken Rice Set, $4.50. Consist of rice, Frie chicken and soup. Though the portion look small, it's really filling. The chicken mean is seasy to scap off from its bone -- u know how difficult it is to eat drumstick when the chicken meat tend to stick to the bone. All off us had no problem leaving clean bones behind.

My friend recommended this drink: Es Tella, which is a mixed fruit drink containing grated ice and slices of young coconut meat, jackfruit and avocado. Something different from your normal drink, but it's really refreshing!

Sun 4 April

i think I must be a hermit, hahah, that's exaggeraeted.
well, i did visit Suntec City a couple of times, only today then I realised the the fountain terrace food court had shifted into its new premises. Seems like it took over the area taht used to be leased to EPB bookstores. The food court is now bigger (but packed as ever), offered more varieties of food, and has lots of TVs showing TV Mobile programme installed.

I tried the Penne mushroom from the new stall, that sell pasta. Rated it quite ok for it's $4 pricing. However, the cashier's english was ........
" yah, You no mushroom SOOP", that's was what she said when I told her that i didn't order the mushroom soup.....

*******************
Anyway, just for the record. Sunday 4 April 4D starter, there was this number 6764. and it was exactly the number of the receipt for the birthday cake i bought for my mum. keke, & I also happened to buy $1 on that number. won $250. must give the 3 colleagues-friends a treat as they were also with me on that day when we went out for lunch then buy 4D as the shop is "on our way"

Lots of things

woah, hadn't post my blog for quite some time. so just make it a quick summary here

26-27 March Attend my company's staff retreat at Sijori Ressort on 26th. Not exactly a "rest & Relax" retreat. but one filled with lots of presentation by the management. The buffet lunch was nice though ;)
Quite flustered when the retreat ene at 6pm and some colleagues asked us (my 3 colleagues who are close to me and I) on how are we going back. As the four of us had booked a room and Sijori Resort and it's wouldn't be nice to tell them we excluded them as it will made them feel uninvited.

Had to come up with excuses...but i think the casual sports bag I carried was a "give-away", as I often carry formal looking bag to work.

Well, Sijori Resort wasn't as "resort-feeling" as we thought, and it had a blackout on at ard 6pm when we checked in. Hence we took the time to went to the main land to get some groceries at harbourfront. Returned to the resort ard 9pm, and heard over the driver's walkie talkie that the 2nd floor still facing blackout.
Slept at 4am after playing card games and true or dare. Woke up at 11+am and had to rush to wash up, pack up before the check out time at 12 noon.

My colleagues who wanted to suntan, were so excited abt going to Siloso beach. However, all the shelters were taken, no choice had to sit under the trees instead. Wonder if some of the beach goers were actually waiting for tthe chance to see celebrities as Darren Lim & Evelyn Tan- the two artistes from Mediaworks were holding their wedding reception and wedding dinner at Rasa Sentosa ....

Shopping at Far East
Can't beileve it, I actually went to Far East Plaza three times within this week

1) 31 March (Wed), -- went there with two of my colleagues after work for shopping. I bought 2 bottoms (a pastel green 3 quarter pants and a skirt with ribbons) and a top , which cost ard $80 in total. By the way, ribbon is the IN thing for these season. One colleague bought two bottoms and another brought a dress, two skirts and a pair of pants for $150 in total, which she said "the prices were quite reasonable".
2) 2 April (Fri) - went out to Far East Plaza for lunch, my colleague wanted to recommend us the Indonesian food ( i'll mention it in the next blog) and annouce her resignation plan...( So sad)..... Hence we "took off" n her Honda Stream. Shopped for 15min b4 going back to office

3) 3 April (Sat).- Went down to Far East Lev One to by a new white shirt, which looked like tennis skirt. It has a pink ribbon as a belt.

Hmm now i got lots of clothes stock up.
