Posting for 8 Nov 2003, Sat
Ok. Can only write this entry now as i just got back from an ex-colleague's wedding dinner Held @ Yunnan garden Restaurant in IMM.
Though he left my previous company where i was working b4 I left, he still invited us, the "lunch gang colleagues". Kind of glad to see the familiar faces again. of cos, his "brothers" are all from our previous company.
I was the first from our table to arrive even though it was 5 mins past seven, and was asked "y are you here so early". So decided to walked ard IMM first and bought the FiRST movie magazine for my brother (as he wanted the Matrix poster).
Well... my ex-colleague told me that another from our "lunch gang colleagues" is going to hold his wedding dinner in January next year. kind of sad because one of his family members passed away, so he had to get married within 100 days or wait 3 years later. Anyway, that makes the 3 "brothers' getting married in 3 consecutive months. One in Nov (today), one on 31 Dec and one in Jan 04.
We were rather surprised that both bridegoom and the bride were rather sporting as they belong the quiet, "guai guai" type. They were willing being "takan" from two tables .
From our table, when the roasted chicken is being served, the bridegroom's "brothers" put the chicken head, chicken breast and chicken backside onto 3 plates. The plates were covered and the couple had to choose one. If they choose head, meaning bridegroom had to kissed the bride's cheek, choose chicken backside, had to kissed her buttocks and choose chicken breast meaning that he had to kiss her... (u know where)..
Well, the plate they choosed turned out to be chicken's backside (at least it is better than the chicken breast), so the bride had to climbed up and stand on the chair (while managing her flowing gown), and the groom had to kissed her butt as long as the whole table shouted "Yum Seng".
The neighbouring table came up with something cheeky. They set aside a bowl of noodles, made the couple stand on two chairs, one of the guest feed them with a strand of noodle each time. The idea is to make both the bride and the bridegroom eat from the two ends of the noodle, so that when they reached the middle, they would kissed when breaking of the noodle. Haha, the curious kids from other tables came to that table and their mothers had to pull them away, saying "小孩子不可以看" ("Not suitable for kids to watch")
Lesson learnt : As my ex-colleague who is the first to get married last year put it, the earlier u get married, the better it is, cos yr gang won't "tekan" you, cos they afraid when they get married, you will seek "revenge" and "tekan" them back.
Yah, noticed that those who gave ideas to "tekan" the bride & bridegroom" are those who were already married & hence need not afraid of people wanting "revenge".
Hmm, shall see how they going to "tekan" the ex-colleagues who will be getting holding their wedding dinners soon.

Snippets: for those interested to know what the bride wore, hmmm think she like roses a lot. Her white wedding gown had a half-a-metre train and white satin flowers sewn around her waist at the front.
Her other gown was a strapless blue piece, a two piece suit which looked liked one whole dress , and had three blue roses sewn at her back, around the waist area.
