Dance and Suay (yeah, not "sway")
Yeah , no pun intended, I really want to write about how
"suay" (unlucky) I am today. However, I shall first talk abt what happened over the weekend.
Dance
Just as Bollywood stars were in town over the weekend to attend the Indian Film Acadamy Awards, I was also busy choreographing "Indian dance" with a friend on Sunday.
In summary, my friend and I are in charge of the camp performance. Around 30 members from my club will be heading north to Malaysia to attend a camp. As "guests" , we still have to put up a performance for them. One of our performance is a medley of dance, despicting the Multi-racial Singapore. So we'd choosen the song 神奇 by Sun Yanzi for the Indian dance, a hokkien song 一支小雨伞 for an "action, comical dance" and a fast track "Over Protected' by Britney Spears for a Hip Hop dance.
Cham lor, we dunno Indian dance, but still have to choreograph.
No coconut tress as props leh. Hahaha. Just hope that whatever gestures we made with our hands don't represent vulgarities.
Spent more than
5 hours at friend's house, but only managed to complete 2 and 1/2 of the 3 songs. As time is running late, and my eyes were strained from my loped-sided spectacles (one of the plastic nose support had fallen off), I really can't tolerate any longer and had to leave my friend to continue with the choreography.
Monday -- Suay
As mentioned, the nose support piece of my spectacles had fallen off and by the time I reached home yesterday, all the shops were closed. So was thinking of repairing it afer work at the optic shop near my home instead of the optic shop at Parkway Parade where I did my specs.
Duh. The lady at the optical shop told me they can replace the nose support piece of my Francois Pinton frame is a special piece, and need a special type of nose support. She suggested that i go back to my optical shop to do it.
Rushed home for dinner, already felt so pissed off that I need to rush out to Parkway Parade. However, kennna scolded by my mum for being so troublesome. Hey, I paid for my spectacles myslef, not as it I'm asking her to pay, and it was she who told us then not to go to our family optician from Toa Payoh that we had been going for year as their rates are still quite high. That's why I had asked my friend to take me to his family optician's to have my spectacles made, as he can get a better rate.
How would I expect after 1.5 yrs, the spectacles will need special parts upon repair?
Had to rush out (it was already past 7pm then)to catch and change buses to get to Parkway. In case you're wondering why I didn't take a cab, it's because my mum will start scolding and insulting me that I waste money on cab fare.
Managed to reach the shop 30 mins before they closed.
Was really frantic when two sales staff commented that they don't have that piece of plastic for my model. Until another one took a look and say he could modify the nose support piece of another model to fit into my frame, however I'll have to wait for him after he had finished his current job.
While waiting, another sale staff suddenly came over and took off my classes and examined it. He claimed that another model's nose piece could fit into my frame, just that my original is plastic, while that's rubber. Count it on my luck that the boss of this Lensman optic shop opened another optic shop by the name of The Eye Side which houses different brand/models of spectacles at a few shops across. So walked over to have my glasses fixed-- for free.
Passed by a pasar malam at Ang Mo Kio, so brought a pack of muah chee and a pack of steamed nuts, for my family to snack on.
BUT when I reached home, they were either alseep or going to sleep.
So...that leave me to eat up all the stuff.
Argghhhhhhh ...... the extra calories.......
