cards.......
sometimes i wonder if i am spending too much time, money and efforts on things that people dun paid much attention to.
Had been doing hand-made christmas gift tags for my office's Christmas gift exchange during the past two days.
For something less than 6cm in diameter each, I had spent more than two days doing them. Not talking abt the cost of the special paper, markers and special glue which i used to create the "pop-up" effects. Made around 24 tags, but just now counted that I need to make around 32. Grrrrhh....
Being the editorial coordinator for more than 3 magazines, means that I know more ppl and gotta give out more Christmas presents. But how many would really appreciate the handmade gift tag? I wonder. Most would probably said " It's cute", then threw it away after the season. Perhaps I should had use the money spend on all the material into their gifts instead. Think they will be more impressed with more expensive gifts than normal gifts with handmade cards....
However, they are some special colleagues whom appreciate what I did. Some even spread to others abt how "handicraft" I am, and they proudly displayed the birthday cards i made for them on their desk. That sort of given me pressure that I can't produce sloppy cards for them. :P
Hmm talking abt material. Today ( I mean sunday) went to town again to buy materials for chirrstmas tags and Chinese New Year cards. Yeah i am damn early. Had made 41 christmas cards liao. Need to start work early as each card need at least 30 mins to make, But today seems very "suay'. Went to Ig's Heaven, but they don't have the Oriental style wraper I want. Then went to Lifeshop to try my luck. They have the colour I want, but it was a last piece. which was crumpled. The handsome staff (who really got model looks)at the counter asked me to try 2 weeks later. Duh! By that time i already had start doing my cards. Hmmm, perhaps I should try again 2 weeks later & bring my "Hua- chi" gal friends along, to "beo' him. Hahaha. Who's interested?
Went to Bugis too, yet the push cart counter which used to sell gold peel off stickers isn't there anymore. Dunno where they moved too]. Wasted trip again.....
