GUEST PASS for LieChuan's Concert
*************
ok, my sat wasn't as hectic as I thought.
Went for the pre-employment medicalcheckup in the morning at Raffles Medical Centre. Well, it is much morn efficient than the PArkway Shenton medical centre i went to more than a year ago, I sort of expect to end by 12 noon, but I left the clinic around 10.30am. Took just more than a hour.
Well, I had gained a kg. Duh! Though that is considered underweight using BMI, but to me weight gain is still weight gain. Must lose that 1 kg. Haha
Afternoon KTv session was cancelled last minute, so that leave me some time in teh afternoon.
Went to meet Sips and walk ard City hall (& bought Ark Concert tickets :p) before heading to attend Huang Lie Chuan's Concert (Sips was going to interview him for Zaobao Xiaoyuan). Well, I interviewed him in 2001. And though we sometimes communicate through msn, I was quite surprised he not only remembered ny msn nic and also my email address. Hmm must be my "unique" email address.
4 years ago, he had already showcase his talent in music ( he can play piano, guitar, do vocal percusssion, compose songs and lyrics) and came in First in the sole category of Talent Quest, and it's no surprise that he now releases his own album. But it's a pity that something had happened to his legs and he had to depend on his crutches. Agreed with Sips when she mentioned that " God is fair.He gave him something (musical talent), but have to take away something. " But still, it's a pity that he had to rely on crutches.
Admired his courage too, for he seems to be very optimistic about his condition. He uses his crutches as if they were some toys, using them as support when he swing ofd from the steps and throwing one crutch down with such coolness when he don't need it.
Halfway through the concert, Sips & I decide to buy his album,-- not as a form of pity, but his songs are really wonderful. There are some R&D songs, some acappella songs and even a rap about the famous "seven steps poem" 七步诗.
Sips had a great time doing this interview. Well, this "generation" of TXYs are definately more fortunate. There are so many activities that it is editor who give opportunities to TXYs to report on them instead of TXYs finding interesting activities in their schools and calling up the editor to see if they can report on them. Perhaps I was an exception, for I was quite lucky to have good PR officers from my Poly, and they provide interesting press releases to my editor, who in turn called me to report on those activites.
But still, I think Sips is sooooo lucky, having 3 interviews with artistes. Haha, guess she will "Hao lian" abt that in her blog :p
