Chingay 2005 & Pics
for Sat 19 Feb
Yah, got tickets to the Chingay, thanks to Wenxin but only found out that our tickets only allow us to sit at the cheerleaders’ zone, that means we can only sit along the curb. Hmm, no complains though, cos that means we are nearer to the performers than those who are at the seats. Don’t think people at the seats are close enough to the performers if they wanna take pics.
.
Bought my digicam and spare battery along, but it wasn’t easy taking pictures. The performers move so fast that even using the “sport mode” function of the camera doesn’t help. Unless you got a professional camera or a video recorder, then you’ll be able take clearer pictures. Luckily, the floats are slower moving, so I manage to take pics of them. (see below). But still, we were being blocked by the motivators, and those security guards. Duh.
I also managed to some souvenirs from the overseas performers. Got a red packets (filled with sweets) from the dancers from China, and a fan from the Japanese dancers. Keke.
I wonder did the camera (for live TV broadcast) manage to capture the scene where the big flag is stuck among the lightings strung on the tree. The flag bearers took some time to disentangle it and the flag almost hit the spectators who are seated along Paragon. 真为他们捏把冷汗.
After the event, there was a dance party on the street, but almost 99% of the people who party are the motivators (student volunteers) and other workers. The organizers failed to take into consideration that everyone have goodie bags and bags to carry, and it would look stupid to dance with bags on your hands.
Ok, Pics here:
