However, there is a story behind. "Wong"was chosen because of family's history with the surname. As for "Harmonie", it's because of a numerology pairing with "Wong". You can read more abt it in my 1st entry. I know that the online world is not 100% secure, so won't be revealing too much. & my dear friends, rest assured that I'll not be mentioning yr real life names in this blog.]

14 Aug 2005 Part 2

Ok here’s Part 2 after such a long delay. ( I had put up the pics of those who were “punished” in my previous post, so check them out.)

At 3pm, not All the guests have arrived, and I couldn’t start the opening dance as planned. After 15 minutes of delay, I decided to start the event, those who missed out our “happening” dance are gonna to be sorry for being late. Heh heh

Turned out that “Happening” dance is really really “Happening” --- in a sarcastic way.

I couldn’t find the CD-R that I had burned, but before the event I had asked Chengyao to bring his CD as a back-up. Haha, never expected that his CD is a pirated copy.

So we posed in front of the stage. Preparing to give the best dance ever.

Guess what????? Out of so many songs, the track was the only one with problem. The music was stopping after every 2 secs. But we 坚持到底。 We simply followed the music: every time it freezes, we also freeze.

See, even the Mr Cool was laughing away on the stage.

But really gotta thank him for helping to 串场。While I am off to see what happened to the CD, poor Chengyao and Ailing had to bear with their “Out-stretched hand “ poses. Jianhua came up with the “changing screensaver” idea on the spur of the moment, thus leading the two dancers to keep the audience entertained.

I thought everything was fine when Ah Du could play the track again, but it turned out that the music was playing in a “slow motion” mode. Hai, 我们也豁出去,followed the music and danced in a slow motion too (can you imagine the SHE’s 对号入座 dance in slow motion?!!!!!) . Damm paiseh, but we had a great laugh over it.

Lesson learnt: Get ORIGINAL CD.

Trivia: Hmm, the strange thing is, at the end of the event, I found the CD I had bought along in the same folder I had been searching earlier. But nevermind lah, like what Xinping said, that was something memorable.

Next on the list was Yiwei’s performance. After the previous rounds of saboing him to perform on Muchuan’s stage, guess he is very familiar with the “environment”. Reason why I asked him to performance is because my friends who do not come from TXY like his singing too.

Thank you very much, Yiwei, for yr efforts. Thanks for printing the lyrics for my guests too. I didn’t thought of that!

Next event was a special programme. Of cos I am not performing. I actually kept that a secret during the discussion meeting with Ah Du, Jianhua and Welly . Until that morning, I told Welly what I was planning to do. Actually it is just something simple, I felt guity that everyone was celebrating my birthday (my birthday doesn’t fall on that day) when there is a friend whose's birthday falls onthat day and Ah Du’s birthday also falls ard that period.

So got them a cake each and got the rest to sing them birthday song. One thing I must admit, I wasn’t very good in conducting that segment (gosh where had my hosting skills gone).

Next segment: The Introduction.
I had to cut short that segment cos “time overrun”, so it was just a brief and simple thing of getting everyone to stand up and wave to the rest as I call out their names. I was thinking the atmosphere would have been “wilder” if I get them to say how they get to know me instead. Yah, that was my original plan….

Finally after an hour, the audience get to hear Ah Du and Jianhua sing. At times, it can be quite confusing as I have dedications for them to read out, but the people whom I dedicate the songs to were away. The “best” part was when I need to record Jianhua singing 李圣杰 的《灰色地带》but he had started singing. I actually said “ rewind , rewind” and there was this discussion abt where to look, 先进寄语还是音乐,etc..

( I had looked through the video clip. Hmmm, quite good lah, comsidering taht's a first attempt. 他还会对着镜头放电。 放电也没有用,人家结婚了。 Hahahhaha. Just that he made a mistake when he repeated the chorus. To me, it’s rather obvious. Wonder if JQ can spot it when she views the file).

Ah Du's rendition of “I’ll Always love you” is awesome. Noticed that the audience gradually stop their conversations and pay attention to him. Apart from his singing, you really can’t hear any other voices.

That song is a killer, like what he said, all the songs I chosen for him to sing are rather difficult. Hahah , as a vocal instructor, he should “show some standard” mah. keke

He also got people to notice the song “活该” too. At least I have someone asking for that mp3 file of that song days after the event.

Overall, Ah Du is the “crowd wow-er”, who made the guests gasping “wow, wow wow” with his impressive singing. Jianhua on the other hand is the “crowd-pleaser”, keeping the guests entertained with his sense of humour (though some of his jokes are a bit 色). He certainly made lots of faces lit up by singing 童话 --- a song which was not included in my list. He should be proud that my English-speaking friends like that song.

Yeah, shall I mentioned that halfway through their performance, that “revengeful” Alvinn suddenly stood up and sabo-ed me to go on the stage to sing. Still asked in a fake polite manner “ 我们可以请(我的名字) 上台唱歌吗?“。 After months of knowing him as a colleague, I know he is never that polite lor. Hahahah. Obviously, that was a “sabotage”. The two singers even led the crowd chanting to get me on stage.

Grrrhh, at that time I was at the VIP table, with my shoes removed, prepared to take pics with the “dark side” and the “purple side”. So it was kind of 狼狈 that I have to quickly scramble off that platform & wore my shoes with nearly 40 pairs of eyes watching me.

I was physically prepared (I had brought along the lyrics ) to be sabo to sing on stage but NOT mentally prepared . Cos firstly, I am not steady when it comes to singing on stage in front of so many people. And secondly, I thought I could escape with my so-call “perfect” programme list which shows a fully lined-up of events for the 3 hours. I thought with a tight schedule, there won’t be a chance to sabo me. I never expect to be called up right in the midst of their performance. Darn!!!

Needless to say, I fared worse than usual practice sessions.
( Heng Mr Li isn’t there, or else I would have drill a hole and hide in there forever.) Keke.

Ok, Shall continue with Part 3 another day.
