weekend, ice-cream, candles, buffet
Gluttony.
I am guilty of that.
Instead of sticking to light meals when I was recovering from my cold, I ate sinful stuffs over the weekend.
Well who can resist ice-cream from
Island Creamery?
Slurps!
Bought a tub of Tiger (beer) Sorbet and Teh Tarik ice cream to Muchuan on 17 Sep, Sat. After the Monster’s performance, everyone was having fun digging and fighting for ice-cream. Oh well, not everyone, except one. Tiger Sorbet was rather foamy, but shiok. As expected, the gals preferred the Teh Tarik ice cream instead. That is my favourite favour. A MUST-HAVE favour whenever I dropped by at the ice cream parlor.
In less than 30 mins, the two tubs of ice cream were consumed by ard 9 of us. Not even a scoop left for me to bring home. Haha Really I don’t mind bringing the melted ice cream and refreeze it in the freeze. Now craving for more…..
Anyway, must really thank my ex-colleague for bring me to the ice-cream parlor last year. Now then I realize, my first visit to the place was exactly a year and a day ago. See my past entry (
http://harmoniewong.blogspot.com/2004/09/maxim-trade-party-16-sep.html). Since then, I will crave for Island Creamery’s Ice Cream than Hagen Daz’s. keke.
Hmmm, should I ask the management from Island Creamery to give me special discounts, as I had recommended quite a few friends to purchase their ice-cream. Yah Flutterby and Sips are just two of the few to name. =P
Shall talked abt the Monsters’ Sat performance. As it was “Mooncake Festival Eve”, we decided to “应节”, and dedicated quite a few songs associated with 月. Ah Du sang “Fly Me to the Moon” and Ximei sang “月光” . Ah Du acted as “乌拉博士”,answering the questions posted by Jianhua .
Imagine a 大男人 asking these questions in a child-like innocent manner:
1) 为什么十五月圆时,犯罪率比较高?
2) 神话跟童话有什么不同?
3) 为什么看到月亮时,就看不到星星?
*Faints*
But then I burst out laughing and bang the table unknowingly when I heard the comment to the 2nd question “神话(的人物)有个鼻子大大的。” Well, they were referring to the movie神话, not神话 as in “fables”.
Something for you to ponder abt. Ximei mentioned on stage that 童话时不健康的。As in they seem to portray that only the pretty ones will have good ending. Take Cinderella for example, she got her prince in the end, but not the ugly step sisters. But then why must she crave to attend the ball and impress the prince. Can’t she marry a commoner? 这么说灰姑娘是有点爱慕虚荣的。
Yah I agree with her. Why must Snow White marry the prince, why din she marry one of the dwarfs. Why Rapunzel choose to let down her hair to the prince? Ariel the mermaid also falls in love with a prince. No wonder gals grow up fantasying about meeting “Prince Charmings”.
Heard quite a few “new songs”, such as “ Amen” by Meilian, “那年的情书” by Ximei ( keke, I dedicate that so that I can also learn from her), “黑夜过后”by Jianhua and “月亮代表谁的心” by Ah Du。With the two keyboards setup, we also get to hear songs like“飞机场的10.30” &“爸,我回来了”。
Took a cab down to Orchard Cineleisure to have our supper. Thought of playing lanterns and candles at Orchard but couldn’t seem to find a suitable spot. Hence we proceed to West Coast park (again!) to play with candles, lanterns and sparklers.
Scared the wits out of Ah Du when I sneaked past him, holding a lantern close to my face and with my fringe pulled to cover the front of my face. Was made to re-enact the scene to Jianhua , but this time round, was holding a green lantern ( cos they think the green lantern looked more eerie.). Songyu and Yuquan created “smoky effect” by running around with lighted sparklers.
Hello! This is 8 月15,不是7 月15!We were rather bo-liao, just sit around and burning candles. Think Jiahao was so bored that he decided to do nail art by letting candle wax dripped onto his finger nail. Eeeeowwww!

Had a steamboat buffet dinner (restaurant is located at Temple Street) with the two fair-skinned guys after the usual “Sunday event”. Sips can’t join us as her mum’s cooking. Ordered abt 7 servings of beef, 5 servings of pork and a serving of chicken, tou fu skin, fishballs, crabsticks, prawn, dumplings, mushrooms and chai xin. There goes my diet!
