Crazy Weekend & Christmas cards
Not n the best of mood these few days. I dun think the problem could ever be solved with unless miracle happens. The only thing I look forward to this week is to the “event” on this Friday. Shall not talk abt it first and those who know, pls “zip” yr mouth ya.
My past weekend was a crazy one. Not as in “crazily exciting”, my life is not exciting anyway, and I dunno why strangers take an interest to this private blog of mines.
Lets recap.
Sat 12 Nov.Really a crazy day.
It started with me waking up at
2pm. Freaking hell man! I was supposed to go for an eyebrow trimming appointment at 3pm. And luckily I called to check, they had made the wrong booking and my appointment was rescheduled to 6pm
Seems like my bio clock is getting crazy liao. How can I sleep until 2pm when I had set my alarm clock at 10am in the morning. How can I sleep through all the way when my sis was packing her bags, my brother was typing furiously on the keyboard and watching TV in the morning?
Now , when did I enter into slumber land the previous night. Hmm abt 1am?? Even then, I slept for 13 hrs. Half a day gone just like that. Ok, ok, perhaps I was too tried, having only 3 hrs of sleep the previous day….
Spent my whole afternoon and evening running to different places, sourcing for Christmas card materials.
Guess how much I spent just on Xmas card materials?
More than $120!Am I crazy? I could simply get 50 Hallmark cards for less than $60.
Frankly speaking, there are times where I wonder should I continue this “tradition” of making cards for my friends. I mean, who will keep them after a few years? And I wonder why I was very insistent on getting specific materials from different shops, where many people will just make do with what they can find in one craft shop.
Recalling my “xmas card materials shopping route”, it is something like this:
1) Made With Love @ PS – bought $57 worth of acid free paper (just one small stack and 2 other loose sheets only) , tags, xmas stickers ( a pack of 4 costs between $5-$7). Then I overheard one regular customer saying “Craft making is such an expensive hobby”. Yes I agree!
2) Spotlight – 2 more packs of Xmas sticker, ribbons and labels 3) Popular @ Orchard – 450grams of colored paper (normal paper, not acid free), and envelopes, of Bronze cards, pens. 4) Art Friend – little décor, holographic paper, mulberry paper,2 more packs of xmas stickers, white pom poms 5) Kinokuniya – Silver and coloured “Merry Christmas” stickers, craft magazines for inspiration ( can’t do the same as a lot of materials are not available locally). 6) Laine Paperterie @ Wheelock – Clear Xmas sticker, and Laura Ashley small envelopes ( just 4 small floral printed cost $7.90! 我现在也舍不得用!) 7) Popular @ HDB Hub – need more coloured papers and pop-up colour glueSo by the evening, my both hands were loaded with packages of papers and other materials.
And guess what, I din even have a proper meal for that day, just had 2 scoops of rice and a few pieces of duck meat which I found in the microwave before I left home and a cup of bubble tea in the evening. Was carrying so many stuff on hands that I dun feel like buying any more stuff.
Since I was in the mood, so started doing a few Xmas card. Managed to make 5 cards before I knock off ard 1am.
Sun 13 Nov
Was a "self-indulged" day. Went with a friend with the intention to shop for a jacket which I can matcy with my new lace top . Intent to wear that to a friend’s wedding in Dec (another bomb!). However, upon trying out a jacket at a shop, saw that my skirt dun match my top. Then went ard searching for a skirt. Can’t find one which fits well and worth the price.
Stumbled into a shop which range of jackets caught our eyes. Tried on a white , short sleeve jacket which fits my lace top perfectly. So bought that and then decided to search for a pastel skirt to match the jacket.
It’s definitely not an easy task considering there are quite a few limitations. Went from Orchard to Bugis Village. Finally found a matching skirt @ Seiyu but it was too expensive. Then saw a formal dress on sale (which cost 2/3 of the price of the skirt), and end up I bought a dress in the end. Hahaha.
Then from late afternoon to evening, we indulged ourselves with dinner at Sakae Sushi and then latte time at Coffee Bean.
Guess what crazy thing we (or rather, “I”) did?
This is called
“想用一杯把你灌醉”
Tell me , who like to take pics with Latte? By the way, that's the new Caramel Ice Blended .
Then one the way to take our buses, saw the Music Craze Concert poster. And I plastered myself onto it.
Sigh!!!!!! If I din spent $ on the Xmas cards materials, I could have bought a ticket to see 李先生!
In the end
“最后的疼爱是手放开”, I let of my hand and then left the shopping centre.
Continue making Xmas cards upon reach home. And these are the 10 unique cards I had made so far.
Kekeke . To my friends, if u see any one u like out of these 10, can “chopped” one first. Let me know which one you wish to have for Christmas.
And hor I need the addresses of those who won’t be ard in Sg during the Xmas Season. Big Cow & Salengheyo, kindly let me know yr overseas address if you are reading this ya.
