Rojak post (31 March to 12 April)

Quick run through of past two weeks’ events

31 March-- have dinner at Newton Food Centre with ex-colleagues. (see, i seems to have been eating good food recently). We feasted on sotongs, kangkong, fish dumpling soup, chicken wings, hokkien mee, orh-lua, 2 plates of hang-he ( hahaha if u are wondering what the heck "hang he" is, dun think of them as 2 English words, but dialect phrase. Still dunno what it is, it means: Sting Ray lor!).




1 April : went to SP to support Mrs Wong in her Talentquest competition. A sweet April Fool's day for her as she was award the Champion in the solo category segment of the singing( Not an April Fool's joke ok ). Mrs Takeshi and I were 不顾形象`by cheering at her when she appeared singing the theme song and collecting her award. Not only taht, we imitated one of the contestant in the emcee category whenever she start to peppered her speech with the phrase "very very". It really get on my nerves whenever she mentioned "very very" whenever she made an introduction, like:

"Let's welcome our very very first contestant on stage."
" I'm very very happy, very very honoured"
Even when she spoke in Chinese, she 'd say "非常非常".

Arghhhh!

That's y when it was announced that the other contestant was the best Emcee of that night, Mrs Takeshi was clapping her hands and said " VERY VERY good".

I almost fell off from the chair laughing.


After the event, we headed of to sushi at Cineleisure followed by catching the movie ICE Age II - The Meltdown.

Despite reviews giving it a rating of 3 stars of out 5, we all enjoyed the watching it. it was definitely better than Chicken Little. Like the lst movie, the audiences laughed the most everytime the squirrel appeared, under different circumstances and using all sorts of methods to grab the last acorn. It was still grabbing acorns when it was in Heaven (only for a short while though).








2 April: Early KTV session within LingYing members. Only 3 of us and somehow we weren't on top form that day. I was down with runny nose and they kept on teasing me afterwards when it was proven that the runny nose symptom would stop if only i was eating. Ate ice-cream, it stop. once i stop eating, I need tissue again. Then snacked on biscuits, bubble tea. while we shopped. As they put it ---"要吃还是要流鼻涕". Of cos I can't be eating non stop and by the late afternoon, i chose to declare being defeated and when home to sleep. SO Yoyo, that’s why I din attend the BBQ. 不是不给你面子哦。





8 April (sat) . Went to AMK central to support Mrs Takeshi ,who was acting in a skit (or rather a forum) titled 168. The topic was on gambling and it was related to the issue of the building of the IR and exclusion clause which will be introduced. It was more interactive than I expected. I thought that when they meant the audience can give views on what can done to make the situation better, they (audience) only need to voiced their views from the floor. Turned out tat they have to go up on stage and act as the character.








Forgot when it happened. One evening, my bro and sis returned home, carrying a big tank containing……

Sis named her crab “Pidd” while bro named his “Jay”.
Jay as in Jay Chou??!!!!

Ohhh, shall I talk to this crab in this way:
“ Oei, Jay! Dun anyhow crawl!”

Yah , talk Crab.. opps, I mean crap. :P

One of the sentence from the results was “在一旁等到沒人時才上前去欣賞那幅畫，正是屬於等候型的人。”
Guess it was deduced from my answer to this Question:

你特地去美術館看某幅有名的畫時，由於太受歡迎了，所以那幅畫前擠滿 了人潮，這個時候你會怎麼做呢？ 1) 一直站在遠處觀賞
2) 推開他人，擠到前面去看
3) 在旁邊等到沒人了再去欣賞
4) 只好死心，買明信片或海報回家看

Perhaps this also applies to other aspects in my life.
Well, something happened last week, and since I had finally voiced my views on that. I dun wish to talk abt it anymore.

站在一旁不去欣赏画，不代表对那幅画没兴趣。
不问问题并不代表没有疑问或没兴趣。而是没机会发问。
有时，“礼让”不见得是件好事……
如果一个人耐心地站在一旁，等着看画的人看完画。但过了许久，看画的人还赖着不走，你认为那想看画的人还会傻傻地在一旁等吗？

Today:

One.
Randomly picked a copy of CLEO mag, without really paying attention to the freebie attached. It was only after I had paid for it, then I realized that the mobile phone screen cleaner happens to be in purple. (there are pink and orange versions available)

Two.
Went to Patissier again! I feel a need to pamper myself.
Hence I indulged in a slice of Mango Basil Leaf cake and a slice of Strawberry Shortcake.

I know you all lao-nuah liao, haha.


Three.

Have been pretty busy, stressed and getting tired easily for the past few weeks but it really warms my heart to know that I have good friends around. Like the nice lady (haha sounds formal) who ended up liaising with the person-in-charge when all I asked was if she has any recommendations for booking of a room for function.

And not to mention the nice gentlemen (haha, my gor lah), despite having a tight schedule, gave me this answer “You know I will always make myself free during that period every year. ” , when all I asked was if he will be free to attend that event (not to help out in that event).

Thanks pals, u know I appreciate your help very much. Din wanna mention any names cos I dun want to be seems as gloating.

As for my other friends, I’ll let u know the date when I meet up with or see you online. U know it’s not safe to release the details here. Especially there is this super “eng” Carlton person, whom now very “eng” and went to read my friends’ blogs upon seeing I haven’t been updating this blog recently. Haha, scared liao huh.


Four

What a strange feeling it was, when I least expect someone to answer my questions, he actually took time to answer them and yet, when I expect someone to be truthful to me turned out to be avoiding give honest replies.

For the former, I was just trying my luck. Cos I know he seldom talked abt such his personal matters and …... (Shan’t say more abt this.)

As for the latter, all I can say is that I am not stupid nor over-sensitive. Everyone knows that something’s not right when a person refuse to answer to you questions directly, changes topic and ends up shooting questions at you, or excuses himself/herself.

Perhaps it is one of those “nature of forces” theory – u receive something, u lose something… to maintain the balance....


Five

Finally, there is a Public Holiday this month (Good Friday), I really need a break. Especially the decision I have come up with. Dunno how we will be breaking the news to her.

Going to catch up with my poly friends, sec school friend and others over this weekend. Looks like I will be feasting again....
