24 June, TXy Annual Sports Day
Took part in TXY Annual Sports day on Sat, 24 June at Pasir Ris. Tot of going there as “老鹰身份” , but then seeing my group members only 小猫几只, so joined in the game.
So from 1pm-3.30pm, I was with my group playing station games, stepping on muddy grounds, sandy beaches, grabbing water bombs while ppl like Uncle and Big Cow walked around, watching (and helping to carry bags :P).
Then ard 4pm is the Captain’s ball match. My juniors (gals) were like pushing me to continue after the 1st interval, saying “
你最高。你会抢球。”
I was like commenting that I have not had any PE Lesson for years, but it was met with their replies of
“ we also din do much during our PE lessons。”We lost our 1st match to Tian-Qun team. Can’t recall if the score was 15-10. Expected to lose becos theirteam comprised of tall guys and gals who are basketball players.
And you know what happened?
The sole of my right shoe split open after the 1st match. Was thinking of saving the shoe by asking someone to buy superglue. Cos I was rather attached to this pair of Nike shoes which I bought during my last year of Poly. Seldom wear it after graduation, that’s y it can last so long.
And this same pair of shoes 陪我走过忠孝东路。 ( haha, what I meant was I had been wearing this same pair during my 4 days Taiwan trip this year. And there was no sign of wear or tear). Guess Captain’s ball must be too strenuous to them.
I was literally dragging my right foot on the way to washroom to wash our muddy legs and arms. Then one of my junior came up with clever idea – unlace the last few knots of my shoe laces and used them to tie the shoe and sole together. It worked!
I was rather worry abt the right shoe during our second match against Rui Ying, but then it proved to be sturdier than the left one, for no long into the match, the left sole of the shoe 开花liao . So ended up with two tied-up shoes.
Anyway, our grp won the 2nd match, with the final score of 19-9. There were many funny moments where BR shouting
“ 我..来.. 了~ ~ ~ .” and doing
“水上飘” ( more appropriate term would be“泥上飘”).
During the break, one of the She Ying member was saying I was very 拼 . And I was saying “没办法,小的要我这个老的上场。” . And then it lead to him and my juniors guessing my age. Think they were shocked to realize I am turning 25.
Then someone asked a question.
“How many years had you been playing Captain’s Ball Match?”
And I began to count…Then realization hit on me,I almost let out a scream…
I joined TXY in 1998…I dun think I had missed any of its annual sports day.So it means that …I have been playing Captain’s Ball for my team for 8 years liao!Kaoz!Glancing ard, I then realized that I was actually the oldest participant of that day. Ppl like Uncle, Big Cow and BiaoGang did not play. Maybe the others din realize I was the oldest.
Yeah!
Perhaps I shall lie abt my age the next year onwards,
say 22 yrs old? Keke.
Come to think of it, I wonder if it is healthy to continue to play for my group.
Captain’s Ball match 从旧报馆打到新报馆 (以前还有志伟当裁判),
从新报馆打到户外。
已经玩了八年的球,还要玩球玩到多久?
难道要玩到十年就推出江湖,还是玩到自己身带着“球”为止?
Scary man… Yah, I still have not recovered from the shock.
Perhaps I shall force the other lao yings like Qium , big cow, Ms Ang, Fannie to play next year.
So, what do u all think? *smirk*
