Together We Will Rock for Charity

Attended KDF ‘s Together We Will Rock For Charity Concert at Fort Canning Green on 4 Nov 2006.

Just the night before, we found that we have an extra free ticket. And if you have receive my sms asking you if you are interested, yes , that was the concert I was referring two.

The concert starts at 7.30pm, but we heard that Energy’s fans were there as early as 6am in the morning! When we reached at 3pm, there were already two long queues forming. As expected, some people cut queue. Later, we noticed that they were holding the complimentary (standing at the back) tickets, we can’t be bothered with them. Haha. Let them cut bah, we’d still be the ones with the closer view.

According to the organizers, ticket sales were slow. And it was sad to hear that Singaporean locals dun support local bands. Not many fans of the Superbands bought tickets.. Most of them were holding the complimentary tickets. Guess it’s just the situation here, unless u had made a name for yourself in overseas music industry, the locals won’t be willing to pay to watch your concert.

First to perform was one of the Superband finalists—Lucify. I had never catch an episode of Superband on TV before, so I dun think I have any preference for a particular band.
Well, I have to say despite starting off with a fast number, Lucify failed to lead the crowd. To me, it seems that the lead singer’s vocals is weak. Couldn’t really catch what he was singing. Out of the 4 songs (or was it 5) they performed, I could only recognized “我只在乎你”and “第一天”。

Next to perform was Soul. I have the impression that since they are from Superband, some of them will be playing musical instrument. And it turned out that Soul is like a boy band . Ehh I have to emphasize that I do not have a chance to catch any episode of Superband. Vocal wise, I think they are better than Lucify. As for their dancing skills, eehh, think they still need to work on it. At least they managed to stir some response when they perform their dance (lots of gyrating moves..) If my memory din failed me, they sang “傻瓜”,“ForYou ”and did a dance segment.

Next, of cos , was Superband Champion – 迷路兵。After hearing them performed “you make me wanna fall in love”, “勇气”& “喜欢你”,I was really impressed with their music arrangement. Had heard their version of “勇气” on the airwaves but what they performed that night was a bit different.

Then, it was the overseas artistes’ performances. 先出场的是“元卫觉醒”。They sang “幸福下载”, “天空”,and two other songs which I can’t remembered the titles. They were quite “suay” cos they were the ponly performer that faced hiccups (or rather technical errors). First, another song (supposed to be next in sequence) was played , and then while they were abt to sing another song, there came the tune of Li Sheng Jie’s song. Oh-oh.

One interesting thing they did, (which so far I had not seen any artiste done it before) – one of the duo, 卫私理whipped out his camera at at interlude of their song, said “Hello Singapore” and took a picture of the crowd. 平时都是观众拍艺人,哪有艺人拍观众的。

They also made some changes in the music arrangement of their song 天空。 (this is the reason why I am starting to like listening to Live!).

Next to appear on the stage was Sam Lee, 李圣杰 , in his new hairstyle (dyed black and cropped short at the sides) .Guess everyone know his live! singing prowess. He sang “关于你的歌”,“最近”,“很想说”,“眼底星空”& “手放开”. To me , “眼底星空“ is really a damm difficult song to sing live, and not only he sang it in perfect pitch, he made lots of changes in the 转音 of some notes that bring the song to a high level of difficulty.. Noticed quite a lot of people were recording his Live! performance which make me “dui” . Seems like I better invest in a new camera soon. Hahaha.

4 lucky audience also managed to take home his autographed tennis balls . Too bad he din throw to the area my friends & were standing. (there was a gal in wheelchair right in front of us…)

Stayed on for a while to watch Energy’s performance but we left halfway in the midst of their 1st song as we cannot bear with the screaming fans behind our backs. 再呆下去不是耳聋,就是有可能被推倒。 太恐怖了!
