ouch my knees
Had a total of 3 days MC starting from yesterday, due to a swelled kneecap. The medical term, as I saw from the X-ray report is "Joint effusion".
Need to whine abt the Monster Boss I have. I started putting this phrase "I have a monster boss" together with my msn nic. Ex-colleagues (aka SPH gang) had asked me abt that when we met up last Friday. This Monster Boss is far worse than the "dowager" .
Not goin to mentioned the past 'tortures" i encountered, shall talk abt what happened yesterday. I had a fall from the bus on sat night (kanna tripped by a passenger behind me who was too eager to get off the bus. and while i dumbfolded, due to pain, she was liked shouting"oh mi god" but walked off after that). Initailly though that it was minor injuries (small cut on the left knew and a big bruise on the right kneecap)
however yesterday, ine the mrt train ride to work, I felt tat something doesn't seem right with my right knee. Thouht that maybe it was because I was standing throughtout the journey (couldn't get a seat and ) that caused by legs to hurt. And i could feel pain as I walked.
Things seems to worsen after i reached office. Find it difficult to bend the leg. even as I turned while sitting on my armchair, the right knee hurts. Comments from my colleagues made me even more worried. They mentioned that my right kneecap was very swollen and seemed different comparing to left knee.
Thought that i can ask 'boss' for time off to see chinese physician (which by the way, previous boss and my colleagues' supervisors all allow them to take time off), yet he claimed that must check with HR and said Chinese physican not approved. If I want, I have take leave.
pissed. Even when I had showed him how serious was the injury of my right knee to prove i was't lying. I remembered I was given time off by my prev boss to see optician at the other end of sngapore when my glasses broke and my contact lens was missing. Other colleague were also given time off for things not related to medical reason to. As long as the supervisor can answer for it, normally HR won't question anything more abt it.
Think Monster boss purposely want me to waste my leave so that he can make me come back to work on 31 Jan.
He could have given me extended lunch time for tat day, so that i can see a doc nearby during lunch, or to let me off at 5pm instead. But he didn't.
Well , I know if i leave at that time, i would have to apply for a day leave even though I had worked for around 3 hrs. Hence I purposely wait till it was passed lunch time then i drop a ote tah i am gg to see a chinese physician and will apply for leave when I return to work.
Went to the Health Centre which treated my sprained ankle years ago, but looking at my condition, they entioned that they cant treat it and direct me to other physician. Imagine I have to limp all the way and endured stares by other passer-bys.
anyway, in summary, chinese physician said that the cold air in my office could have worsen thepain. After giving me some chinesse medicine and wrapped my knee with a plaster, she suggested I went for x-ray .
A long wait at the polyclinic, when it was my turn to see the doc, the x-ray department was closed for the day and I was made to return te next day.
So gotten a day MC for yesterday and another 2 days MC for today and tomorrow. Doc actually asked if I wna 3 days MC, but i think i will faint at the amount of work to clear upon returning from a 3 day MC.
And u know what, Monster smsed me and after my fellow colleague called me, saying Monster ask her to with with me regarding something. More likely that he want to know if i am really at home.
