Taiwan trip 2007 -- Day 1
Here a report of my Taiwan Trip (17-23 01 2007)
17 Jan 2007Reached airport ard 11am, and quickly checked in my luggage. Despite me bring only 4 sets of clothes for a 7 day trip( I intend to buy clothes at 五分埔), the weighing scale showed that my luggage is slightly more than 8kg. which is more than what I had packed for my Taiwan trip last year. What did I put in? hahaha.
Asked for aisle seat cos much easier to get off. Silently pray that I won’t be experiencing a similar
“光头老incident" ( refer to my archived post:
http://harmoniewong.blogspot.com/2006/03/taiwan-trip-day-one.html)
No boarding passes were issued, just 2 slips of “printed tickets”. Noted that under sequence number, a “4” was stated. I presumed that means I was only the 4th passenger who checked in?
Guessed it’s a good thing to check in early, cos I noticed those who did so were given seats allocated in the front wing of the plane. I was seated in row 9 (here were 30 rows), and mot of the passengers from row 1-10 were given a row of their own. Guessed of all us opted for aisle seats.
See, not bad huh. No complains abt legroom as I do not have long limbs. Hahaha.
Reached Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport (台湾桃园国际机场) slightly before 6pm. Just the past experience of taking the airport shuttle with Flutterby last year, I stilled remember the way to purchase the tickets for 国光号---once u walk past the arrival gate, simply turn left and walk towards the end of the hall. For NTW$140 , u can reached Taipei Main Station (an mrt station) in 50 mins.
Keke guessed what. On the bus, heard 李圣杰&张玉华duet 《是你决定我的伤心》aired over their local radio station. Traffic was bad that evening, partly due to the weather. Engaged in a small talk with the lady who sat beside me. Was rather taken aback when she gave me her number and asked me to contact her if I need any help. 怎么她毫无戒心? (will write more details in my private blog)
By the time the bus reached 台北车站,it was abt 7.45pm liao.
Had dinner with Sally & Nita at
咖哩匠, which is located at Fortune Centre near 台北车站. (their website www.currychamp.com.tw is still under construction, so for more info, can refer to this website:
http://tw.lifestyle.yahoo.com/biz.html?bizid=04d8c200ba882023).
Now, for those friends who know me well will wonder what I can eat at a restaurant which sells mainly curry. Fret not, I ordered a
Seafood Omelet Rice set which isn’t spicy. Prices were quite reasonable too, if I am not wrong , the Seafood Omelet Rice set cost NTW$330, which includes a drink, a salad, the main dish & Tiramisu cake. But then, I feel paiseh when Sally insisted on treating when it was time to leave.. Should have order the main dish only.
This is the pic of the main dish. Not very clear , I know :P.
Picked up a new Chinese phrase over the meal:
à la carte = 单点要尽量说标准的华文了,少说rojak式华文。哈哈。
(Shall continue with the rest over the next few days. This is taking much more time I had expected cos right now I am not in a very good mood, hence not in the mood to combine those pics I had taken into scrap pages. )
