guess i am still a bit affected by the incident, even though i am leaving soon.
This morning, was feeling a bit unwell at work.
Naturally my voice sounded weak and sian.
So happened that The Ex called me up to ask for directions to my office, and at the 2nd sentence he blurted:
"Can u try to sound a bit more cheerful or not".
What???!!! Hey i sick leh. Somemore talking to old friend, need not act mah.
"early in the morning sound so sian.."
i felt like strangling him then. ...
算他有点良心, offered me a ride home after his meeting. at least i dun need to endure a long journey ride by public transport .
Anyway, seems like news spread fast, both abt my resignation and the incident. So far all have been possitive on my side. The other "victims" had told me he was always like that, shouting and accusing people and then apologised "for shouting".
Many said " the hurt was there. Apology doesn't cure it."
I was laughing when another colleague (note: she is located at a diifrent level of our office premises.-- see how news spread) joked that next time if i happened to see him at the hospital, i should ask the doctor to give him a jab that will make him unable to open his mouth, so that he cannot shout at people.
Another colleague was saying that he should be lock up in the room with Glenn, so that he can learn from Glenn on how to be a man (as in gentleman). Uncle Glenn is the nice colleague i had mentioned before. All the colleagues, no matter their age, gender or ranks always sing praises abt him being gentlemanly, chivalous, charismatic.
Seriously i dun think that crazy man would see Uncle Glenn as a real man. He may be thinking that he himself is powerful and manly by daring to shout out loud .
On another hand, I noticed that lots of colleagues from different levels are trying to catch up with me after hearing the news abt my resignation. Even though I had worked for 3 months, many of them thought that I have been around for 2 months. I even received an email from the temp staff who is working at the HQ HR, asking me if it is due to the stress at work. It seems like when a staff quits suddenly, it must be due to the workload.
Compared to my previous workplace, I must say most off the colleagues here are nice. Not as stuck up as the Professionals in my previous workplace. Partly because of my jobscope, I get to interact with different people from different departments.
and the most common comment I had heard from them in the past 3 days is :
"I just got to know you more and you are leaving."
last week, while talking to the ex abt the decision i have to make between the two choices , i joking quoted the song "趁早" by A*Mei/ Phil Chang where there is a verse: "...想结束要趁早..."
It is a better time for me to leave now as:
- the impression they have of me currently is good.
- the longer I drag, the more i have to lose out in terms of getting annual bonus and increment
- avoid attending the staff retreat in mid june as I wun be needing the skills
- able to qualify for 2 prorated pay increment n July & Dec
- snese of emotional attachment wun be tat much
sleepy now. 要趁早睡。
