别以为我好欺负

Was insulted twice at work today. the first one was soooo bad that it make the second one seems so minor.


Being in big organisation, i know that offices politics are inevitable. What I din expect was that even if i chose not to get involve , some people still treat me as part of the group (just because i am in the department).

so much to the extend that i was verbally abuse.
Had to endure this b******* lashing when i did nothing wrong. Perhaps he thought he can target on me cos i am a newbie.


According to my understanding, due to some past history, he always think that admin are against him. And Last friday, he submited a claim for health screening, where there was not any description on the receipt. Just a mere note that $85 was paid.

As a certfiying officer for staff claims, i have to the right to ask for clarification. Need not even check with the HQ HR first as the guidelines are given.

My colleague advise me to check clarify with him personally as he will tend to twist yours words through email. But he played the cat & mouse game with me. Look for him, he's not around. Called him, din pick up a phone. hence wrote an email to him very politely to request him to drop me an email when he is back as i would like to check with him regarding his flexi-benefits claims.

sense that there would be trouble this moning where he chose to settle it by email, which he wrote "Wat is the problem."

Dealt very carefully with this troublemaker by explaining that i would like to have a confirmation that the claim he made was for health screening as there isn't any description on the receipt. (have to stress here that I did NOT even reject the claim on the system, which i would already have done for other colleagues).

Yet he twisted my words, wrote back an email to me " are you saying that i cant claim because there isn't any description" and cc to his superior.


with my past years of experience in dealing with this sort of people , i did note the way he include his superior in the mail. and when i replied to him , still tactfully that i din mean that as i only need his comfirmation, i also include his superior in the loop. (and claim was not rejected)

and guess what.

The next moment, this bad dog barged into the admin office and start screaming at me :

"Why did you reject my claim." and his saliva was spliting out.

tell you , his voice was so loud that even his superior sitting two corridors away heard it and stepped in.

I was shocked. When did i ever reject his claim and he had no right to malign me and shout at me like that.
When I asked : Did I reject your claim?", this b******* dun even answer it and continue shouting " Did you check with HR first! Did you! before you reject"


My manager and supervisor by this time had heard his outburst and was in shock. Nobody dare to react.

As I began to explain that it was in the guideline and wanted to pulled out my file to show him, he chose to shout " I went for health screening and this is my heart earn oney and u reject my claim without checking with HR.".


By this time, the Deputy Director, Genral manager had stepped out of their office. was so insulted that i told them i din even reject his claim. And as this mad dog was pulled away by his superior, he was still screaming and shouting.

If he think that i can be bullied this way, he is wrong. for i knew i did right from the start . It was my job to clarify any unclear claims and i did my best to look for him personally. I had emails in black and white that i did not reject his clim and had not written to him in any offensive way.

Let my supervisor and Manager read the email correspondence and they knew the whole situation.

but what abt those who just heard him shouted " why u reject my claim".

这种污辱我承受不下。


His supervisor tried to defend him, cos this b******** is a “老教”,that maybe he was stress.

So what, being stress doesn‘t give him the right to shout at anyone as he please.

你以为小师妹好欺负啊!


Later my manager and RO bought me out for lunch, mentioned that this time he had gone too far, partly because the management did not take any action on him when he used to complain publicly on any policies they came up with. Hence he got bolder.
It was initiately decided that my manager will bring up this case of bullying at the management meeting and sent him for counselling.


after lunch, it also happned that my manager seek him out to talk to him, to clear any misunderstandings he have of the admin department in the past. according to her, he claim that he see me as going out to stop his claim (what for do i wanna do that. my work target is to clear claims dail) and it would be better if i had look for him personnally (didn't i try that). She told me she told him taht she saw from the email that i had done everything correctly, from lookinghim up to contacting him and mentioned that he should apologise to him.


So that is when i saw him coming to my place and he said my softly (oh suddenly his voice can be soo meek):

" I just wanna say sorry for shouting at u just now".

Darn., u think that he is sincere. notice the words he used. he only apologise for shouting at me. but what abt the past that he maligned me that i rejected his claims. And the whole world thought i reject his claims .


Trust him to know that by apologising, my manager decided not to bring up the matter to management to refer to him for counselling.


Oh forgot to mention that this b******** is also a coward. Cos after lunch, there was an email from HR to ask him to state down on the receipt to clarify that the claim was for health screening (isn't that whay i asked too). Yet he dun have the cheek to face me then. He actually asked another colleague to come and endorse on his behalf.

hmmmp.

很冤枉lor,就因为上一代的恩怨,要我这一代赔。

2nd insult really seems peanuts as compared to this. My fellow colleague heard abt the news of me bein headhunted and blurted out
"maybe the director choose u after seeing yr picture".


哇靠。什么意识。this not only insult me, the director and also the friends that I had rcommended to attend the interview.


For those curious, the director told me the reason he thinks I fit the job is because after years of interviewing many people for many positions, he can tell easily how a candidate can fit into the position and environment through the way they talked.


I could not help by asking him driectly whey he think i can meet up with the expectations when he told me that he had spoken to his wife (working in another hospital) abt me and in the event taht he cant take me in, is she able to take me in under her. Guess this was in reference to the promise he made to me to remember to call him should one day, i am unhappy with my current workplace.
