The Monday Cranky Entry

Smooth~ing effect's gone. So many suay things had happened. Argghhhhhhh.
Perhaps I should listen to "我要快乐。”

1st thing: I need to watch my diet. Must include more red meat. Had already told some friends regarding what had happened.

2nd~ly: I wanna get out of here ASAP.

Anyway, it's 12 more days to "SuperStars" Gathering. Shall see who is the starriest of all.

P.S. : Had added a couple pf new links on the left column. Yeah Yeah, online shopping sites. Just to wow at the creations only.

so.. smooth!

Just feel like writing this after completing my stuff. :)

Listening to "Smooth" (i've only got Jonathan's version) perhaps helped in making things smooth.... ahahha.

I am so proud of myself. I managed to write a paper to call for quotation for renovation ( u know, those cheem cheem terms on specifications and terms of contract) in a few hours.

It was a last minute instructions from "small boss". Only managed to confirm the details slightly after 3pm and then I began; drafting the documents, touching up the office floor plan, OT until 7.30pm.

Yah, was listening to "Smooth" at some point of time while working on the paper.

Never had I ever been able to complete a paper in such a short time. Furthermore, "small boss" commented that mytouch-up layout "got standard". Haha, with only Paint program available, I still managed to draw in new cabinets in the layout. Sui Sui !

ZPop 2006 (updated but pics pending)

Attended Zpop @ Indoor Stadium last fri. It was a last minute decision. Haha, many thanks to Qium, who offered me her free tickets which is worth $128 each. Had a difficult time contact ppl wwho might want to have the extra ticket. Ah too bad.

So ended up Qium forgoing her seat at TXY ‘s rows and seat with me. Well, our view if definitely better cos our seats are nearer to the stage.

Here’s a review, erm, or rather my comments for the concert. (sorry , might have to wait a few more days for me to update it with pics)

Fish Leong , 梁静茹:
She started the concert with a rock song “燕尾蝶”。感觉还不错的。可惜没有伴舞。 Read from reports that the finalists of the Superbands were originally scheduled to start off the concert, 可是出了些状况，所以就由Fish打头阵。因此她选了首很Rock的“燕尾蝶”开场。
Fish had a gentle way of asking the audience to participate. Upon seeing that not many people were holding lightsticks (I wonder why this year Zpop dun give out free lightsticks), she coaxed them into flashing their hp, joking that nowdays everyone have a hp and most are fully charged. And voila! the whole indoor stadium was filled with “fireflies”.

What really surprised me was that her lung power seemed to have increased. (pardon me, I might not know the correct technical descriptions). Though I am not a fan of Jolin nor Fish, I gathered that most people who attended the concert will anticipate Jolin’s performance to be the best. But Fish’s singing proved us wrong. 以前总觉得梁静茹有时飙高音时感觉很”紧”, 但她在这场演唱会时却没给我们这种感觉。而且唱《勇气》时，还把尾音拉得长长的。顿时，我和qium都冒出了一句：“哇！她进步了很多！”

还要说明，以我们的观察，梁静茹是没有对嘴的喔！

Jeff Chang，张信哲：

虽然提到他正在筹备他的新专辑（9月发），可是他却成为唯一一位没唱新歌的歌手。久违的阿哲这次再Zpop再开唱，肯定令不少观众期待。

就像人们所说的：“期望越高，失望越重。” Whatever happened to the crystal-clear voiced 情歌王子？唱“太想爱你”时竟然唱到破音。 Not once, but a few times. I even double checked with Qium cos I tot my ears were “bluffing” me.

他接着唱的棘手的，都显得很吃力。我们都可以清楚地从荧光屏上看到他唱高音时，整个人在颤抖。 Owwwww.

However there was a “surprise element” in his segment, for he performed a remixed version of 《过火》--- 很有西班牙舞曲风味.

Harlem Yu, 庾澄庆:

本以为他会以“熏烟妆”露面，只见他一身火红（红色sleeveless long vest）。一出场就喝张信哲合唱《爱转动》。难得有机会听到他们一起合唱。当然他也唱了他的新歌《戒不掉》。自钱没仔细听过那首歌，可是感觉他现场演唱时，好像可以把复歌的key调高了。
至于他当晚的表现，好像没什么可挑的。只不过没带给观众一些而外的惊喜。

老实说，我觉得他当晚的Encore曲“热情的沙漠”。把观众带到最高点。（而不是Jolin）.

蔡依琳，Jolin:

I have to say, I dun admire her, but was rather anticipate watching her dance to her tune of 《舞娘》。I bet many were left disappointed…

以一首《完美》做开场，却又对嘴。How ironic. 这么称得上是完美呢。一边跳舞，一边“唱歌”，却没听到呼吸声，未免太明显了吧。

舞跳玩了，跟观众嗲了几句后，喝了一口水（奇怪，之前的歌手都不需要喝水的），就唱了手”马德里不思议”. 哎呀，怎么这回只要走动，不需伴舞，却听到他的呼吸声呢？

不要说我对她苛刻哦。当她唱“假装”时，坐在我们背后的观众冒出了一句：“Off Key!”.

As I said, the greatest disappointment was that she did not perform the 浪波舞，和彩带舞 when she sang 舞娘。

As you can see, it’s a cut short version…..

Compared to Fish, Jolin doesn't seems like interacting with the audience, she was like asking the audience to acknowledge her presence. eg asking the audience "我是谁呀？”。很“公主”。

(for those who are interested, someone had post a video of Jolin's princessy way of talking on YouTube, and the caption was "does she always talk in that way?". So it isn't only me who feels this way ...)

还是比较喜欢梁静茹的亲切。

虽然 Jolin 被称是"DancingDiva", 可是当晚的Diva应该是梁静茹。因为她是四位表演者当中，为一换上两套衣服的艺人。

On another note, Qium and I were seated two blocks away from where the TXYs were seating. These TXys are the only ones who were so "high" throughout the concert -- standing up and cheering for every singers. Even Fish acknowledged their cheers. Perhaps TXY can consider forming a "Super Fans" Club, and every concert organisers can give them free tickets to cheer for the artists at their concerts. Hahahaha

many thoughts

It’s Friday today! Seems to me time passed by rather fast this week; perhaps I have quite a bit of stuff to handle.
The preparation works have been progressing well so far. I had managed to come up with the design of the card and sent the invitations out. Am collating the responses and I wanna thank Ah Shui for helping to coordinate for the SPH Gang.
As for food, I had decided on the caterer. Their management had replied to my queries, so I guess everything’s settled then.

I’m afraid I have to disappoint some of you if you are expecting something grand as last year. Aling smsed me that she enjoyed the gathering last year, and looking forward to this yr’s. Arggh, I will not be having the stars-printed plates, cutleries and other presentations, though I know I can find such stuff if I bothered to source for it. Rather stressed if everyone expect the standard to be same as last year.

Hmmm, shall I give this excuse: “I just wanna you to remember last year’s gathering for the rest of yr lives.”? Hahaha

I am crossing my fingers that we will be able to see “something” at 9pm that day…..

There are two areas (shall I make it Three) which are not progress well… Perhaps time is not right yet. Either I shall be patient or fight for them.

I was telling Fannie abt an interesting, yet funny quote I came across.

Don’t complain that your prayers are unanswered. The answer is “No!”.

Kinda of make sense right? Everyday, millions of people pray to their gods, deities (was told that Buddha is not god) etc.. How are the gods & deities able to deal with so many requests? We wondered if there is a “quota system”, and perhaps only a certain number of prayers can be fulfilled everyday. The rest are given with an answer “No” or maybe “Please try again.”

Found some rather interesting thing. Seems like some of the contestants are not as popular as they were. Jay’s , Mathilda’s blogs dun have much comments from their fans. So do they have very rich fans who are willing to spend $ to keep them in the contest or their fans are not IT-savvy?
It had caught my attention that Jonathan’s & Joakim’s blogs are the most read among the contestants (I always tot Jonathan & Paul are the most popular). After reading their blogs, I figured why theirs attract readers. Looks & voice aside, I have to say Jonathan’s blog posts are interesting reads. The way he is able to express himself, his thoughts and showing the soft side of him surely make his females fans go gaga over him. Especially when he bothers to drop a note to those who left their contacts for him.

As for Joakim, he seems to have a nice personality. His writing style is more mature compare to other contestants around his age.

As for the gals, none of them seems to be addictive reads. Arghh. Sad to say that I predict this season of Singapore Idol will be a male. Come to think of it, males always have an advantage in these contests which is determined by voting from the public.

cave & retro

Imagine one day, you step out of yr house to find the lift lobby of yr floor became like this overnight:

Machiam look like a cave with lift when the tiles were removed right?

Heng, I do not have a "cave -woman" look, though some people mentioned I've got a 复古face. (gor said that that can be a compliment cos Wong Lilin got a 复古face too).

Speaking of "retro"， the retro-looking glittery hairbands are back in fashion now, perhaps due to the rage started by Rainie Yang. And last sat, while shopping in Harbourfront Centre with Fannie, we stepped into this accessories shop call Montip and I bought a hairband for fun. Fannie actually also look retro when she wore that pink hairband which matches her baby doll shirt.

Purposely change the pics to Sepia to create that 复古 effect. But do I look retro?

As for the pic of Don pie, I had took it weeks ago, but did not have chance to recommend it. My colleagues and I went to Don -Your Personal Pie Club located at China square or was it Far East Square just to have their pies for lunch. We ordered Kids' Chicken Pie as it does not contain pepper. The original chicken pie contains white pepper which can be consider quite hot to some. One thing i don't understand, why is it the Kids' pie, which does't contain white pepper actually cost more than the original which contains pepper?
