Pictures

There are quite a few who mentioned that my blog is a bit "sian', as there aren't many pictures, unlike XiaXue's (Most bloggers will know who she is). Oh well, I am not narcissist, and want some privacy. To me, a blog is really like a diary, one would seldom paste pictures onto his/her diary. Furthermore, I am writing for myself, not blogging and trying to make it interesting so that I can have more strangers reading and get some "most popular blog Award".
Not condemning Xiaxue (or Wendy) . She have her own right to do whatever she want.

But, here are some interesting OBJECTS taken with my camera.

2 Mazda cars outside my office.
It isn't every day that you get to see 2 same car model, in same colour parked together. Can't see much from this pic though I was already standing at the furthest possible point at the roadside. After taking the picture, then realised I should have taken it from across the road, so that I can capture the two cars within the screen.

My creation
Yeas. this blue and violet jar is done by me. I had written some time last Oct that I took up a short pottery course. This is done by coiling method. Not bad huh, considering that I am a greenhorn. :)

lessons and handling over

Guessed it seems like I had to go back to work tomorrow afternoon as the person who is takng over is only coming on Monday (My last day on office) . My supervisor told me that she is coming today, but guess they are so inefficient in telling her, she can only come on Monday.

Grrrhh. That means I had to spend time teaching her and quickly finish up processing all invoices (I normally do it on the first week of each month). I already sacrificed half a day of my leave on Tue.... Well... better leave behind a good name, so cleared everything first before i go.

What I am afraid is that she is unable to absorb all the things within one day. I have to start work at my new office on Tuesay, so they can't expect me to come back and teach her. I had spent 17 months in this company, and learn to handle so many things as time goes by. How can the management expect me to teach her everything within one day?

"Everything" refers to:
1) using the Macintosh ( yes, not PC, hence no right clicks on the mouse, different command keys, different operating system)
2) creating payment form for 8 magazines
3) daily office admin duties
4) learning how to use Photoshop, resize image and burn CD
5) processing all documents out from GM office
6) coordinating for 3 gazines and other contract publications
7) others.....

Yes! That's a lot. I wonder how she will manage.

My colleague also don't understand why they took such a long time to hire a person to take over even though I had given them more than a month notice.

**************

Went with my friends to Japanese Association to enrol for Japanese classes in the evening. But we did not pay our fees yet as they can't confirm if there is enough vacancies to accept us--the non members. They gave priority to members, and could only take up to 20 students per class. So we just have to wait for the acknowledgment letters which will arrive by 19 Feb.
So hope my friends and I will get in.

phone call

Hmm, this blog is about Sips and her dream guy/idol Jianhua. If you are not bored of it, please read on.

Teased Sips a lot over the phone on my way home from work. Cos she was returning the missed call from me.
Well, wanted to tell her what happened, and see if she's "dui2"

Called up Muchuan a reservation for the East Meet West event at the cafe this Sunday . As a norm, I spoke in English to the person who pick up the phone. Well the person sounds a bit panicky when he spoke in English, and I assumed he is the waiter. Somemore, when he asked what time my friend & I are coming, I replied " Around 7.30 to 8pm, as you all don't serve dinner anymore."

And he replied something like that "Ermm, actually we have something new. Like the soup in a bread... bowl... something like that." ( the '...' represent him pausing). So that really seems like a waiter giving recommendations. Before I ended my call, I gave my name (the english name which people thought so when they mispronounced my hanyupinyin name) and my contact.

Within one minute after I closed my mobile phone, it rang. So it was "the waiter" who called back, asking our expected time of arrival, so that if we didn't showed up by that time, they will gave our seats to walk-in patrons (he actually phrase it as "people who come in later".

Hmm...wait a minute, at that point, I suspect that voice belongs to Sips's idol. No harm asking, so I asked him "May i know who's this speaking".

"Jianhua".

Bingo! Must tell Sips about that, I thought. (No wonder he seems not eloquent in English)

Told him who I was, and he gave quite a stupid comment " so you are (my name) arh?".
Duh!
Oh yah Sips, he dunno I was refering to you when I mentioned your Chinese name, until I mentioned yr English name .

So called Sips to tell her that, but she was unable to use her mobile at taht time.

So eventually when she called me, I told her about the story, and teased her, especially regarding her dream guy's way of speaking English. Of cos she came to his defence. And she "heart itchy", wanted to hear his voice, decided to make reservation for herself too.

Luckily her call was picked up by him. And which she told me, she recognised his voice instantly. Of course lah, I am not interested in him, so never pay attention to his voice, and he really sounds different when he spoke in English ma. Somemore he recommend me the new food , hence came the assumption of him being the waiter lor.

This girl really "gone case" liao. When I asked her if she wanted to cancel her reservation after she found out that he's not singing on Sunday, she said she won't, as her reservation is written down by him.

" shakes head" ....... :P

****************
Just found out today taht my new work palce is not near to Funan, but at another building near to Maxwell Food Centre. Though there's quite a distance from the bus stop, but there is good food to eat. Oooooooooh.

Was quite pissed off that till now my present company hadn't hired anybody to take over me, when I have only 3 days more of service with them. Others colleagues were a bit "kan-cheong" as they dunno who to refer to when I am not around. Then found out that the management were actually thinking of asking the tempt admin staff to cover my work. hey! That's so ridiculous!!! I myself already can't cope with mine, and she had a busy time coping with her work, yet they asked her to handle two persons' job. Do they ever care for staff welfare and be realistic when cutting cost?

手放开 & 双栖动物

Lyrics of some songs on my "hits list'. Pay attention to the words used.

unexpected

Had mentioned in my previous post that recently what I said had become quite 准 . Well, it happened again this afternoon.

Mentioned to my colleagues that I was quite surprised when, me and my friend ( yes Sips, it's u) were the first two who bought the tickets to Muchuan Concert on sat, even though SISTIC started selling them on Mon.
One colleague quetsioned if many people will attend the concert as most ofthe singers don;t cut album.
I sort of reply " Maybe ChongQing(the 933 Dj who is also a MuChuan singer) is performing and his fans will attend".

Then one of them comment " Aiyoh, his latest hairstyle so ugly"
& then we all talked abt his long hair.

And after lunch, as we walked back to the office, a cab pulled up at the lobby. And guess who stepped out of the cab. He is no one else but that Dennis Zhou Chong qing!. We were quite stunned, and he though we gave him that " Oh I recognise you are a movie star" look, and he gave us a smile.

Yeah, my colleague was joking " Today must buy 4D liao".

Soooo 准! We never expect to see him in SPH Magazines, as he is a Mediacorp artiste. And to think we saw him right after we commented abt him 10 mins ago.

Yeah Sips, you must be wishing I talked abt yr idol Jianhua , and he will appear right in front of you right. Hmm perhaps it only works when I mentioned negative things. Haha , perhaps I shall say negative things about him the next time i see you, and see if he'll appear. :P

Post another piece at my other blog, friends please get from me the URL if you don't have it :P

sat events

GUEST PASS for LieChuan's Concert

*************
ok, my sat wasn't as hectic as I thought.
Went for the pre-employment medicalcheckup in the morning at Raffles Medical Centre. Well, it is much morn efficient than the PArkway Shenton medical centre i went to more than a year ago, I sort of expect to end by 12 noon, but I left the clinic around 10.30am. Took just more than a hour.

Well, I had gained a kg. Duh! Though that is considered underweight using BMI, but to me weight gain is still weight gain. Must lose that 1 kg. Haha
Afternoon KTv session was cancelled last minute, so that leave me some time in teh afternoon.
Went to meet Sips and walk ard City hall (& bought Ark Concert tickets :p) before heading to attend Huang Lie Chuan's Concert (Sips was going to interview him for Zaobao Xiaoyuan). Well, I interviewed him in 2001. And though we sometimes communicate through msn, I was quite surprised he not only remembered ny msn nic and also my email address. Hmm must be my "unique" email address.

4 years ago, he had already showcase his talent in music ( he can play piano, guitar, do vocal percusssion, compose songs and lyrics) and came in First in the sole category of Talent Quest, and it's no surprise that he now releases his own album. But it's a pity that something had happened to his legs and he had to depend on his crutches. Agreed with Sips when she mentioned that " God is fair.He gave him something (musical talent), but have to take away something. " But still, it's a pity that he had to rely on crutches.

Admired his courage too, for he seems to be very optimistic about his condition. He uses his crutches as if they were some toys, using them as support when he swing ofd from the steps and throwing one crutch down with such coolness when he don't need it.

Halfway through the concert, Sips & I decide to buy his album,-- not as a form of pity, but his songs are really wonderful. There are some R&D songs, some acappella songs and even a rap about the famous "seven steps poem" 七步诗.

Sips had a great time doing this interview. Well, this "generation" of TXYs are definately more fortunate. There are so many activities that it is editor who give opportunities to TXYs to report on them instead of TXYs finding interesting activities in their schools and calling up the editor to see if they can report on them. Perhaps I was an exception, for I was quite lucky to have good PR officers from my Poly, and they provide interesting press releases to my editor, who in turn called me to report on those activites.

But still, I think Sips is sooooo lucky, having 3 interviews with artistes. Haha, guess she will "Hao lian" abt that in her blog :p

digital camera

Went down to Sim Lim Square to buy the Kyocera digiam. Kinda of need my own digicam to take pics with my colleagues before I leave the company. Choose to buy Kyocera cos it can be rotate 120 degree, which make recording movies and taking picture much easier. So far, in the marker, only Kyocera and Nikon have models with rotatable lens.

Thinks gals are at disadvantage when shopping at Sim Lim. Some sales staff will try to con you and quote you higher price, thinking you dunno abt the market rates. Luckily I did my "homework' before buying.

One counter staff from a shop really give me some attitude.(* shit, should had rememeber the name of the shop.) He quoted me $350(w/o GST)for the basic package. (If you compared to Best Denki which sells the camera at $399, you might think it's a good bargain) When I told him that I could get the same package with additional 256mb memory card at $345 at another shop, he just slouched at the counter, looked at elsewhere and said " That is below cost."

So cannot bargain lor. Fine! He thinks I am those "soft-soft" type. I simply put down the camera and walk away.

So went to the shop which gave the best rates. Purchased an addtional battery , and after adding GST, the total cost sounds like an unlucky number---$444.15. So bargain a bit to reduce to $440.

Think I got a better deal comparing to my sis, who bought the same camera at the PC Fair last year for $500. Just that she got an additional pouch. Well, if i want a pouch, I could get it for less than the $60 saved.

Bought a Converse sling bag for my brother since I had spend less then my budget of $500.

Hmm, see if I have the chance to play with my gadget tomorrow. :)

Tomorrow will be a hectic day, need to wake up early in the morning to go for pre-employment medical check-up. Then meet my colleagues for KTV (spend time with them before i leave the company), then go to attend Huang Lie Chuan ( a new local singer) concert at the Art House.

bugis & song

Went shopping with my 2 colleagues at Bugis. Before shopping, one colleague and I went to Clay Studio at Bras Brasah to collect our "creations". Think I did mention last year that I took up a short handbuilding ceramic course. I got back my tray with ribbon, and another jar made from coiling method. Ohh, I am so proud of the jar I made. Colours turn out quite well too. It is half blue, half purple , and glossy. Now I have to find a place to display in my room.

While going for our dinner at Bugis Junction, the other colleague who was walking around while waiting for us told us that she saw quite a few "china girls with old singaporean men".... if you know what she's refering to lah. Seems like after the reports on their "activities" at Joo Chiat and Chinatown, they are targeting other areas...

We didn't get much things. Just wanted to show them the section at Bugis village where they sell skirts (some are the same as the ones we saw at Far East) at only $10. But my collegaue did bought any, cos the series they have are flare skirts, which she said will make her hips "look big".

Went back to Bugis Junction after walking around at the Upstairs of Bugis Village (so quiet there). bought a small purple bag with ribbon (so me!) at 70% off at Acessorise sale. Bumped into an ex colleague (she was just doing part time at the company where i was work 4 year ago) at the neighbouring watch shop. Quite paiseh when she called me (by my Chinese name, and in the correct pronunciation) and I can't recognise her intially, until she hinted where we met. True as she claims, she really have good memory, and sharp mind.Though she remembered how I looked like 4 years back, she can still recognise me now (without glasses and new hairdo).

While waiting at the bus stop for my bus, heard the pirated CD stall behind paying Li Sheng Jie's chixin Jue due.
Heard it again this morning. Quite a nice, but sad song. His voice do sounds a bit like Ronald Cheng.

Attached lyrics below:

what a fright! & Muchuan

reached home late yesterday (actually not that late, just later than usual,--just before midnight). Why, cos accompany Sips to Muchuan lor. After she publicised in her blog that i promised to go with her on the 17th, how can I escape? Of course she went there to see her idol/crush/dream guy ----Jianhua.

Was travelling from office to Clark Quay, then at Tanjong Pagar. i realised that my handphone was not with me. I panic cos my office workstation was very open and there isn't many people left in the office. Once, I almost forgot to pack my handphone in my bag, and when I rushed back to my desk, I saw the cleaner at my cubicle.

Quickly got into a cab at Outram, and then realised I still have my nokia 3210 spare phone with me ( but low batt). In my haste, i called up my colleagues to see if they are still in office , but they had eft. cab driver reminded me to called my handphoen to see if anyone's picking, but my spare phone battery had gone phone by then. Borrowed the driver's handphone and quite worried when found that I couldn't get through cos "network busy". Wanted to call Sips, who must be waiting impatiently at Muchuan but i don't have her number.

To make things worse, there is the major traffic congestion which starts from CTE to PIE . Finally reached office (no one there!) and I was shocked to find out my handphone not at my desk anymore! Arghhhhhhhh! Then crossing my fingers, I dialled my handphone number on my office phone, hoping to hear any ringing tone from my neighbouring colleagues' desks. Really worried when I didn't hear any sound but finally someone picked up. Heng arh! She is one of my supervisors. Luckily, it so happened that another colleague had saw my phone lying around, but pass to my supervisor cos she won't be coming to office today. was told that " a gal whom I was supposed to meet had called'. (must be Sips).

So quickly run back to lobby, got back to the cab and headed to Muchuan. Cab driver must be thinking that I was late for important appointment and was speeding like mad! First, I feared that i lost my mobile phoen and all the important contacts, then had to fear for my life....

Upon reaching Muchuan, realised that they were in the midst of the audition (there is an audition before the performance), and I think I caused distraction as Ah-du ( the singer) stop talking . Sips then commented: " I know your tramatised experience".

Yah, very tramatised. Also, not used to not having my mobile phone around.

Haha, Sips' idol started off with her favourite song, though she didn't dedicate it. (to Sips: hmm did he purposely sing that for u? Wooo.. :P)

Sometimes, i find whatever I say turn out to be that (zun3). Like midway, I wanted to go to the Ladies, and was teasing Sips that maybe I should leave while her idol Jianhua is singing (to let her admire him by herself), unless he sang my favourite song 黄昏 (Huang Hun).
And turned out he sang that song! One mistake I spotted: He repeated the verse 爱情进入永夜 when he should be singing 相爱已经幻灭 at the end. Sips was like defending him, asking why i was picking on him (earlier on, I had comment he sounds very weird when he speaks English). Aiyah, Huang Hun is my favourite song, hear it almost everyday, of cos I know the lyrics well lah!
As they say ''love is blind". I guess even when Jianhua sang off-form the whole nite, Sips will still think he's cool. (*grin at Sips)

Went to pass the singers the photos taken with them on New Year at the end of their performance. Sort of have a plan for Sips to talk to her idol by asking her to show him the "Picture Tile' i have given her. Aiyoh, he was so formal to her and didn't say much. But Sips managed to dig some info from Meilian. Hey Sips, I really want to laugh when I picture you with the gleam of determination in your eye when you said "I'll melt his heart.".

Haha, reminds me of Pepsi Fire and Pepsi Ice. * lame*

Got my handphone back this morning.
Saw Sips ' sms. She was so happy that she received a longer-than-ususal and less formal sms from him. Wooo... way to go! So the 'fire' is starting to melt the 'ice'. :P

D&D on Fri, 14 Jan 05

Promised to report on my company's D&D held at Legends. So here I goes.

Luckily I got a ride in my colleague's car on the way to the destination, if not I can't imagine the amount of cab fare I had to pay. We were not aware that the road leading to Legends from the ROM builing was blocked, and my colleague had to make a detour instead. We had to pass through this one way land and were aught in the traffic jam. Upon reaching the ballroom, we realised that we were one of the early batch to arrive even though we were abt 20 mins late. Two of my other colleagues had spent 1.5 hrs in their cab right.

Quite surprised that many colleagues make efforts to dressed up for the occasion, when most of them had done last minutes shopping. hmm, saw someone from the subsidiary company wearing a huge plastic tiara and a sash.... Well, if you ask me for my comments, I would say " Can't make it".

Byt hey, she was the Hollywood Babe of the D&D. Not because she was pretty. It's because she was EXTREME. The organisers had nominated 3 guys (which 1 is a gay, and another we suspect he is too) and 3 ladies who wore in clothing that (quote the compere) " you wonder how they have the courage to wear that and take cab or MRT to the D&D). Pity those who spent their hard-earned money on gowns/suits , thinking that being best dressed might get him/her the Hollywood Babe and Hunk title. Pity the Hunk and Babe too, for their prize was a teddy bear, not some Sasha Bear but a British Airways Teddy Bear.....
*shake heads* Big company yet so "cheepo"....

Shan't talk much abt the programs. Just that the compere made repeated"'cold jokes" regarding the lucky draw, and two performers from a subisdiary who were supposed to sing spent more than 5 mins talking abt how nervous they are, having cold, and voice sore from her singing competition..... blah blah blah before they actually start singing. I thought I was getting impatient with them(I was silently screaming "Have you two intro enough") until my colleague commented " quickly start singing lah!" to our table.....

Of course, there was the lucky draw. A few days ago, we were reminded to bring name card to the D&D for use in the draw. I was joking to my other colleague that we, who don't have name cards, must try to find ways to get a namecard to particpate in the draw, as I want to have a chance to 把公司"吸光光" before I leave the company. Haha, imagaine my surprised when the compere annouced my name. Was quite paiseh when my fellow colleagues from my table cheered while I had to walk the red carpet to the stage to collect the prize. I wondered if the organisers had made any mistakes as the first 5 names who were called out were given 11th to 15th prizes, while the later 5 lucky winners collected their 16-20th prizes. Mines was the 12th prize-- a $100 Crystal Jade voucher.
Quite happy with my prize as the top 3 prizes are home theatre systems ( note: not some high-end brands but brands like Pioneer)which i don't think I would have the chance to use it. As for the joke to 把公司"吸光光" ... well, I don't think i will have the ability to so that. All these depend on luck and chance. Must treat my 3 other colleagues in the car ride for a meal at Cyrstal Jade, because if not for the timing of my arrival, my card won't be at the lucky spot in the lucky draw bowl. (there are only 20 prizes given out, quite pathetic....) Hey speaking of that, the two other colleagues in the same ride with me also won something.Theirs was the 16-20th prize category, and they got goodie bag each containing a box of Brands Essence of Chicken, True Star perfume and small handbag (which they all suspected that these are left-overs gifts from some events).

(* smiling at Sips). Need to mention that half-way through my D&D, Sips called me to tell my that she was outside MuChuan, looking at her idol Jianhua. Hai... this gal is hopeless liao :P

Shall post pics of D&D if I received any.

Pre D&D

Will be attending the company's D&D tonight, yet not feeling excited abt it. Actually my department and another neighbouring department are not too excited about it. Some only when for last minute shopping last night! One even mentioned that she'll be wearing slippers (but in gold slippers). As for me, if nothing went wrong, I'll be wearing a satin top with an old pair of long black pants, together with a pair of shoes which I had worn for 2 weeks. Haha. Already mentioned that I won't be spending much on this D&D since I am leaving this place.

Heard from the grapevine that another department are rather stresses. Apparently, there is some competition between that department (which deals with fashion) and another department from our subsidiary. Hmm, so they are the one who will stick to the theme-- "Glitz , Glamour & Shine".

Well, perhaps I shall report on who wore expensive gowns, who was a fashion disaster in my next post. :P

untitled

Immume system down. Had this terrible cold since last evening....
Yesterday was also one of the 'suayest' day in my my.
Morning, my department was sort of given this "meeting on discipline" by our supervisor. Though she kept emphasing it was the management orders, our colleagues from other departments never receive lecture from their superisors. Well, just a summary: we are not allowed o eat breakfast at the cafeteria-- must start work punctually at 8.30am, not reached office at 8.30am then go off to have breakfast at the canteem. Saying it's unfair to the company as we are being paid to work from 8.30-6pm but we actuualy start owrk at 9am. We are 'advised" not to purposely work OT for 4hrs just to claim. (There is some stupid rule that unless you had worked overtime for more than 4hrs that day, then you cam claim OT). Quote her : " You can stay back, but stay back for the necessarrily amount of time." So she is hinting us to stay back and don't claim lah!

Hey hey, isn't she biting her own tongue? She said that it's unfair to the company if we start work late, but it is fair that we work late yet don't claim for OT??
Grrrrr.... It's a good thing I am leaving this place soon.

Afternoon, I was quite pissed off by the attitude of some colleagues. Perhaps I was too helpful that people had taken things for granted. upon seeing the printers are running out of paper, i will collect paper and put in for them. But today, I was busy and never checked the status of the printer, until i walk over and saw that it was out of paper and nobody bother to op up the paper when reams of paper aer within easy reach at the cabinert. Was really furious that after I top up the papers, there are lots of documenst being printed! What this means? People are obviously waiting to see if the next person will top up paper for them.

Then i saw copies of newspaper that I had tied up neatly for filing, being thrown back on the pile after use, instead of re-string them back. Happened twice today! Every day, I had to spend time punching and filing these, yet people messed them up. Filing of newspapers was not actually within my jobscope, until the GM made me in charge of each office cleanliness. For the first time, i wrote a mass mail, (after seeking GM's permission ) and send to everyone in the office, asking them to help in keeping that table clean & tidy. The problems is, I can't lash out at them in that email, so wrote a formal email, which another colleague commented that it was "too ke4 qi4".
My colleague who was in charge of the pantry had sent numerous email to all, instructing us to keep the pantry clean. What this show? Some people are really selfish, inconsiderate, ignorant..... Quite worried for my colleague who miaght be atjking over my duties if they couldn't hire a replacement in time...

went home with a "red nose", Even drinking the Panadol Hot Remedy doesn't help. Was half giddy when I reach over my sis bed to open the window but knock over her things instead. Then this sabo queen purposely shouted at me and create a big fuss (she twisted the whole story and claim that i sneaked her things) ended up me being scolded by parents who never bother to look at the actual facts......

Lessons learnt from them: Next time I have children of my own, I'll never used words like 'so what you are sick' on them. Also, need to find out the truth instead of what you deem is the truth.

leave

The day has come....
Today, was sort of being led to do the "exit interview". After my supervisor had through the contribution payment with me, she said "Before I forget, had to do this exit interview with you.".
Well, the exit interview is one where she had to go through me those questions set by HR, asking reasons why I left. Hah! She said these interviews are done so that the management will know what went wrong and they will know how to improve the working condition for the next employees.
Yah Yah. If they really had taken actions on what went wrong with my "predecessors", I don't think I will leave...

Another colleague was telling me that she plan to resign too, if the GM still had not taken action to convert her from temp to contract /full time. She was also given more and more work, and empty promises regarding her conversion.......

Speaking abt leaving.... just gotten a msn message from a friend that he is single again liao after nearly 3 years of "couplehood". Reason given: they are being drifted apart due to work commitments and they dun love each other as much as before. Somehow, it really seems like those "golden couples" who you think you might receive their "red bombs" all spilt...

I wish that my other friends who are still happily attached can enjoy a long lasting relationship....

evening at bugis

Met up with "Fannie" at Bugis for window shopping, and if by luck, see i can find a better dress for my company D&D.
Was surprised to see her in her new hairdo, for she permed her hair, really look like some Jap movie stars :p. I hope that I can manage to grow long hair (always had to trim due to split ends) and then able to achieve the same effects if I went for ceramic spa perm.

She, on the other hand, couldn't resist touching my soft rebonded hair. And found out we did our hair on exactly the same day -- 30 Dec.

Went to took neoprints as our hair are still in better conditions.
Suddenly, I recalled abt eight years ago, we had our first neoprints taken when we are still in secondary school, and how we looked then.... Well, to put it in nicer way, we look better now. Like what Fannie joked:"有时,往事不堪回想".

Yeah, thinking of the "pomp pomp" hairdo I had in my secondary school days........

Here is one of the neoprints we took:

What's yr order?

Interesting thing happened in my office today, which reminds us that one have to be careful in choosing "reply" or "reply to all" options to their emails.
the story goes like this:
Our CEO's secretary sent an email to everyone from our company in bcc list, and to some people not from our office in cc list, asking :
"Dear all

Could I have your R.S.V.P. by tomorrow, 7 Jan. PLEASE? Also pls indicate your food preference:

1) Chicken
2) Halal
3) Vegetarian

Thank you"

There are some colleagues who choose to click on " rely all "instead, and on and on, there are emails poping in our mailboxes which goes " Chicken, please. Thanks "., "chicken for me. Thanks'....

Yeah, so now we all know what they are having on the company's Dinner & Dance...
Until one kind soul who took the initiative (& risk) to mass mail to all:

"Hello,

Please do not RSVP the entire TPE grp, thank you.
We don't need to know if you are having chicken, rendang or mock char siew

Thanks for not cluttering the mailbox"

And no more unwanted emails from there onwards.

recents events 2-5 Jan 05

haven't been updating my blog for these fews days, so make it a quick one.

2 Jan , Sun-- Went to Muchuan (Again!) for a guitar trial lessons after a shopping trip with friend. As what Sips wrote in her blog, yah,I was struggling a little as this is my first time learning, while she and Da-Niu knew how to strum. Actually, interested to learn an instrument, but there are other factors to consider, such as there not much space to put the instrument in my home, and I won't be able to practise everyday at home. So i guess I 'll still stick to another opinion, vocal course-- so next time K-ge can K better. :P

3 Jan 05, Mon -- My company HR actually tried to "play tricks" on me, but thanks that i was smart enough to write down my last date of service on my resignation letter, they don't have any chance to cut my pay. The story is, I received an email from HR, saying that they received my resignation letter, and since my letter was dated on 29 Dec,they will process my last day of service as 28 Jan. Hey, according to terms in contract, u have to give AT LEAST a month notice, not exactly a month notice. I wrote back, stating the fact I had stated in my letter taht my last day of service is 31 Jan and i had to send it early as my supervisor was on leave on 30 dec, and 1 Jan is a public holiday. Tried to called HR, but seems that they purposely didn't want to pick up my call.
Then finally , towards the end of the day, finally receive an email from them, saying "Ok, we'll change it to 31 Jan".
Well, I had purposely choose to end my employment with the company on the last day of the month, so that they will be paying me the full monthly salary, giving them no chance to pro-rate, giving them no chance to cheat me of my pay , haha! But I do expect them to show some tricks again.

5 Jan 05 (Wed) -- went to Muchuan after work, to support Sips and "DaNiu" who are auditioning to become Ark Singers. Hey, you two were quite good. Sometimes it had to depends on luck. as you don't know the judges' tastes/preferences. So, good luck to you. Again, everyone who know abt Sips' infatuation with Jianhua teases her. Hai.. poor girl, can't get to see her idol face to face today, for she only saw his backview from a distance.
Oh yah, we did stay back to watch the Wed singers for a wwhile. Hmm, don't really able to connect with them. They can even commented on the songs that audience dediciated are too new , and then commented that some songs are "quite some time back". Duh! When one (i shan't mention the name) sang "qing1 Lao2", he couldn't pick up the notes and had to be helped by the female singer. Ok, sips, here's somethig good to say abt yr JianHua--- he sang better. :) Guess Monday's batch of singers more "happening".....

2004, 2005

Ok. Wanted to write abt my year in 2004 and 2005. Then realised there are something which I am only willing to share with close friends.

So close friends (u know who u are) please get from me my other blog url.

But still, here a general reflection of my year in 2004.

It’s quite a hectic year, with ups and downs. Compared to 2003, it is much better. Or was it because that I had experienced so much in 2003 that whatever problems I encountered in 2004 seems less significant?

Lots of changes in my work during the past year. Ever since we shifted from 7th level to 5th floor, my workload increased… increased to an extent that I was so proud to put on my resume " able to handle 7 magazines from 3 within a year" and ‘able to muti-task and act as stand-in for other colleagues from other departments".

I realised I was less tolerant to handle these type of "chapalang work’, for I decided to resign after a year of service; for my previous job, I "tahaned" for 2 years. Perhaps it’s because I knew that I should waste my precious time on a job which I do not like, a job which I don’t see any chance of development.

I finally realised the difference of having a career, not a job…..

At home, faced more problems from my mum, mainly due to money matters, she refused to believe I do not have a 3 digit pay increase last year. Well with a new job, just hope that things will be better.

Locking back at the posting I did last year, My resolution for 2004 is to study hard and master Heelys.
Haha, what makes me wrote that at that time. Study hard…. Hmmm, I did apply for a place in the local Universities this year but was unsucessful. They scrapped the SAT test requirement, which made me quite "dui’, as I had spent 3 tries to get higher scores in hoping to get a place.
As for the Heelys, well I mastered a bit. Does that count?

I had spent most of my free time in 2004 to learn making cards. Somehow, my friends and colleagues had commented that my cards are "so me", cos of the colours scheme and ribbons. Haha, guess that will be my signature style…..

( more comments to be put at my other blog) ;P

As for the New Year , I’m looking forward to it, especially when I got a new look, and starting my new job soon. :P

New Year Wishes:
Hope I will have a better working environment when I crossed over to my new job.
Hope that all things will be fine… cos this year I "fan4 tai4 sui4".
Hope I can manage to travel to Taiwan. Friends had always mentioned abt plans to go Taiwan for holidays for the past fes years, but we all never get to do it.

( more personal ones in my other blog)

New Year Resolution:

To learn one more skill, interested to taking up Japanese language course and/or vocal course, if time allows…
To be more patient. I realised that because my heavy workload, I had become more and more impatient, even after working hours! Need to thank my friends for being so understanding.

31 Dec 2004 & 1 Jan 2005

Happy New Year to All

Well, for the 1st time in my life, had attended the new year countdown outside my home . Shall talked abt it later.

31 Dec 2004
Back to office after a dayoff. Colleagues were like teasing me abt my new look. (cos i rebonded my hair). Haha, some teased that they thought i am a model, while some asked was it that i going to get married soon. Hmmm, having changed to wearing contacts and having straighter hair now, i guessed there is a significant change, but not that exaggerating that I look like another person.

Well, had told more colleagues abt my resignation (yeah, had tenered on 29 Dec). Some asked why wouldn’t I wait till I had gotten the company bonus then left When I told them where my future workplace is, all think that there is a better prospect for me there.
Also heard that my “gan-cheong” supervisor had walked into the GM office yester, an after they, they announced that this “3m tape” (an intern who is very “sticky”, hence the nic) will be transfer to my department. It may seem bitchy, but most of us do not like her, cos of her attitude. One was so “sian” that she remarked that she will find a big board and place in front of her cubicle, so that she will not be able to see “3M tape” face.

For me, I doubt that she can ever cover my duties properly, as she was more often seen chatting with the male colleagues than working. So I sort of went to the GM’s room, asked if I nee to hand over my duties to her. As expected, GM ask me why I left. Told him that the future place is located at a more accessible place for further studies. He said that if I stayed, they could arrange for early release on the days I need to attend classes. As the saying goes: It’s easier to o the talking than work. What he failed to understand is my immediate supervisor’s character, she would never like it if anyone leaver earlier than usual.

I also pointed out to him that there will be better jobscope at the new company ( sorta hint that I am fed up with all the “sai kang” I had to do here). What he said really make me wanna rolled my eyes. He said something like now is the initial period, as the company grows, yr job scope will change. Admin Assistant can be promoted to Assistant Manager (~ yeah, have to wait for more than 10 yrs lor). We have been genuine to you by giving you MI (pay increment)”.

See, now he mentioned abt the pay increment. I have known earlier that they expected my “repayment” after they awarded me the increment. Well, my decision still stands, I am going to leave. Wish me all the best!

31 Dec 2004, 8pm to 1 Jan 205 1.30pm

Had attended the countdown dinner at 木船 with Sips and Cyn. Quite fun actually. Singers were great, Music was great. Well I felt happy too, cos I was like some "恩人" to Sips. Chioed her to attend this event, let her got the chance to know more abt her idol, Jianhua(the 木船 singer). Luck was on our side too, as we were told to pick put one card each for lucky draw to play games. I actually dislike the card I picked out, as it was a "Number 4". But it was the lucky card which led to Sips to get close to Jianhua. Cos when A-du ( anotehr singer) draw a number from the bowl, it was my card number. I was like "oh no, why i so suay, had to go on stage to play some games". But..... they actually wanted me to get a friend sitting beside to go up stage to sing song. So got Sips to go upstage instead. That's how she was asked to sing a duet with another male patron, and Jianhua. At the end, Jianhua presented her a Winnie the Pooh bear. Hahahaha.
Heng they didn't actually want the person who got the lucky card to go up on stage, or Sips will kill me for this :P

I got got something in returned. We were told to write down our new year resolutions, and the most creatives ones would received a souvenir. Mines was picked out. Well, if u are interested to know what it was, it is sort of a musical box, in a shape of a 木船 , with a steering wheel and an anchor.

Sort of through the lady boss's arrangement, we gotta take pics with the singers, who were dressed up as Princes and Princesses for the countdown. Of cos, Sips got the chance to take another pic with her "Romeo", gotten his signature, and even his handphone number (with the help of Cyn's pick up line).

Hey Sips, u mentioned that he's 高不可攀, but he seems so easy-going, so soft-spoken down the stage ( a bit ironic right) so willing to take pics, and give out his handphone number. Hmmm, just read yr blog, is your relationship with SW in danger now? Guessed it was too early to think that one will wait for another for 5 years, but nobody made any promises right?

ok. gotta go out now. Shall write abt my 2004 reflections another time.
